Better off going and drilling TKD kicks and practice them in a normal sparring routine.  The only benefit I could see from TKD sparring is to learn to immediately return a kick as soon as you notice a kick coming.. thats it.  But I think that's a staple in Muay Thai and kickboxing also

4 or so years it took me to get my 1st Dan blackbelt from the World TKD Federation (WTF) in South Korea.  Earning my blue belt in BJJ was much more rewarding.

It look like Anderson was teaching more than training.

I think Anderson got a BB in TKD when he was just a kid.

lol, so did i....where’s is my championship belt?!  What i took away from TWD was push kicks, spinning attacks and flexibility....other than that there are many bad habits that come with it.

I think I trained TKD, then Muay Thai then BJJ.

Anderson Silva started when he was 14 and earned his black belt when he was 19, so not quite a kid. Taekwondo is great martial system, very useful.

Alpha, remember there is no martial arts better than another martial art. Its about how you use the martial arts in a fight, so don't judge any martial arts, remember that.

As someone who was involved in TKD for 20+ years I can tell you, it's become a joke. It use to mean something but now it's basically a feel good day care center. The photo below is from our local TKD school. Now, ask yourself how hard can getting a black belt be?

WHAT! Shock I just noticed a couple of those kids are 4th degree black belts (4 stripes on the belt).

I think they are all grand masters!!!

They must be. It took me 19 years to get my 4th degree black belt in TKD.
Assuming these kids didn't start until they were 2 years old (sigh) and now they are five or six years old, it only took them 3 to 4 years Sad
