The underhook is a very important concept to understand in submission wrestling. The underhook can be used to stop a takedown, control your opponent, set up an escape, set up a submission and many other reasons. In this drill Lockflow.com models Kim and June demonstrate the basic hand and arm work for the 'Pummel Drill'
Step 1
June (in Red) has her right arm under Kim's left armpit and at the same time, Kim has her right arm under June's left armpit | Step 2
Kim drops her left hand inside June's right elbow pit. June does the same thing. |

All kidding aside. It's a good drill and I do it all the time. He who controls the inside is usually in a better positon of advantage.
