Neck Crank from All Fours
Sat Oct 01, 2005 9:53 pm
Here is a simply way to attack your opponent when they are in the 'All Fours' position.
Step 1
Eddie is in the All Fours position and I am controlling his side | Step 2
I reach my right hand around Eddie's jaw, forcing Eddie's face to look towards me. |
Step 3
I reach my left hand over and grab my right wrist, pulling his face even farther towards myself | Step 4
Keeping my grip tight and my weight forward, I lean forward and put Eddie's head on the mat |
Step 5
I switch my hips and drop my base and continue to crank up on Eddie's face until I get the tap. |

OK....i'm going to check my Carlson Gracie instructional book. I know i saw that choke in there somewhere, and i'm pretty sure they called it a choke. I think it's the same one Carlos Newton used on Pat Militech. ![]()

(neck crank / choke )
Is there any counter to this if someone gets it on you? On the streets could be a broken neck. What is one to do? Say Uncle?
Ultraman, There is a move called the bulldog choke, school yard choke, or school boy choke, where the arm wraps deeply around your partners neck, one of the guys on this forum (kilkboom) choked his opponent totally out with this choke at a match a few weeks ago.![]()

I love this move. I was rolling the other day and I was on top in the refferees position and had managed to trap his right arm between my legs. I flattened him out and applied the crank (slowly of course I do't want to hurt my training partner) and boom he tapped. I love the cranks. :)![]()

I got hurt in a tournament once...my camera angle was bad so I never knew what exactly happened. I think this may have been it. My spine has not been the same since. :-(![]()

somebody did a similar move to me the other night, except from the same starting position, he threw his right leg between mine to pin me more under him and face cranked me the other way. it felt like my jaw was seperating from my face. ow!![]()
