Conguest of the Cage - Sept 8th - Results

Bout 1 - 145 lbs

John Palmer (3-4, Arlington) def Doug Sheppard (0-1, Moses Lake) by Unanimous Decision (All judges 29-28), John Palmer used his ground game to control brawler Doug Sheppard to take the scorecards.

Bout 2 - 155 lbs
Matt Davis (4-2, Arlington) def Logan Bowman (Yakima) by Technical Submission (Ref Stop - Armbar) @ 1:08 Rd 1, Logan dropped Matt with a nice uppercut to open the fight, Matt used his ground skills to survive Logan's Gnp, and then quickly locked on an armbar for a first round submission.

Bout 3 - 170 lbs
Andy Benham (Debut, Shoreline) def Mike Hoffee (2-4, Spokane)by TKO (Ref Stop - Strikes) @ 1:57 Rd 1, Andy "The Caveman" Benham survived a front choke and a triangle attempt by Hoffee, and then quickly dropped huge bombs down on Hoffee to earn the TKO. So easy even a caveman can do it (sorry, had to say it, lol)

Bout 4 - 170 lbs
Josiah Mitchell (5-3, Arlington) def Ricky Carillo (8-3, Kennewick) by Armbar @ 1:15 Rd 1, Josiah kicked as Ricky punched, Ricky got the takedown, Josiah got the armbar.

Bout 5 - 145 lbs
Oscar Juvinelle (3-2, Arlington) def Pat Grom (5-0, Coeur d'Alene)by Guillotine Choke @ 1:54 Rd 1, Undefeated Pat Grom stepped in as a last minute replacement. Pat was able to survive a few guillotine chokes from Oscar, while getting the takedowns, but the third time Oscar hit paydirt.

Bout 6 - 145 lbs
Joel Larson (Debut, Kennewick) def Adon Martinez (1-0, Arlington)by KO @ 0:09 Rd 1, Everyone loves a good knockout, Joel punched Adon and knocked him out. That was it.

Bout 7 - 145 lb COTC Title
Joey Becker (8-0, Spokane) def Jordan Cook (9-0, Coeur d'Alene) by Unanimous Decision, These two fighters put everthing on the line, including their perfect records in this epic 145 title fight, In the end the crowd was happy with the technical display of MMA in this bout and Joey Becker kept his 145 Conquest of the cage belt.

Bout 8 - 170 lb COTC Title
Ben Fodor (18-2, Shoreline) def Rick Parkins (20-2, Spokane)by TKO (Ref Stop - Strikes) @ 0:48 Rd 1, Ben came out and threw alot of punches and didnt stop until Parkins was on the ground.

Bout 9 - Pro 145 lbs
Alex Zuniga (15-3, Everett) def Omar Avelar (15-2, Moses Lake) by Rear Naked Choke @ 2:49 Rd 3, the fight of the night, these two experienced pros showed tons of heart and technique (and blood) in this match.
After a few leg kicks from Zuniga Omar looked for the takedown, Alex was able to defend for a bit landing some short elbows, Omar got the takedown and landed some Gnp. Alex gave up his back and Omar went for the RNC, Alex power bombed Omar to the mat, and got a warning for spiking as Omar took 5 to recover.
Some nice punches and kicks from Omar and a shot, Alex was able to defend for a bit, and went for a heelhook, Omar spun out and we had some more action. Off a nice sprawl alex spun to Omars back and finished him with a RNC in the 3rd.

Co-Feature - Pro 145 lbs
JJ Lopez (12-1, Sedro Wooley) def Cody Cox (12-0, Coeur d'Alene)by Unanimous Decision, The fight looked to be over quickly in the first round as Lopez dropped Cox to the mat. Cox used great ground work to survive, as Lopez seemed to tire himself out trying to finish Cox. Cox threw up a nice triangle and Lopez showed great heart in surviving. Much of the remaining fight was stand up as Lopez edged out Cox on all the scorecards.

Main Event - UMMA Lightweight Title
Ryan Healy (16-6-1, Reno) def Charon Spain (27-9, Tri-Cities)by Rear Naked Choke in Rd 2, Replacing Mike Hanks in the 155 title bout, Spain gave good performance against the very experienced Healy even getting Ryan's back once. But in the end, the takedowns and ground and pound of Healy set up the RNC in Rd 2

Omar Avellar vs. Alex Zuniga - Zuniga wins by RNC at 2:49 of the 3rd rd.
Cody Cox vs. JJ Lopez - Lopez wins by Un. Dec.
Main Event - Ryan Healey vs. Charon Spain
Ryan Healy wins by RNC in 2nd rd.
