Armbar Rollout Drill

This is the drill we use to get use to pressing off of the opponents chest and looping the leg the over the head for an armbar. Work this drill with 10-20+ reps on each side and end on the very last rep with an armbar. NOTICE: This drill WILL make you dizzy... work through it as if you were punch drunk. Have fun!!!

  • Mount Position w/"T" Press
  • Amanda "Don't Let The Smile Fool You" Hickman starts mounted on Sabrina. Amanda places her left hand flat on Sabrina's chest with her fingers pointing towards Sab's chin. Amanda reaches around Sab's arm with her right hand and makes a "T" on Sab's chest.
  • Press
  • Amanda presses on Sab's chest to lift herself up and begins her armbar.
  • Throw the Leg
  • She throws her leg over...
  • Hook and Sit
  • as she controls the arm, hooks the head, and sits out.
  • Roll Back
  • Instead of keeping the arm trapped and finishing with the armbar, Amanda rolls to her back...
  • Roll Out
  • and "rolls out" over her shoulder.
  • Scamble Back to Mount
  • Amanda quickly scrambles back to mount on her hands and knees without standing up.
  • Now the Other Side
  • Amanda now starts on the other side. Amanda "Don't Let The Smile Fool You" Hickman starts mounted on Sabrina. Amanda places her right hand flat on Sabrina's chest with her fingers pointing towards Sab's chin. Amanda reaches around Sab's arm with her left hand and makes a "T" on Sab's chest.
  • Press
  • Amanda presses on Sab's chest to lift herself up and begins her armbar and throws her leg over...
  • Hook and Sit
  • as she controls the arm, hooks the head, and sits out.
  • Roll Out
  • and "rolls out" over her shoulder.
  • Scamble Back to Mount
  • Amanda quickly scrambles back to mount on her hands and knees...
  • Scramble cont.
  • without standing up. She assumes the mount position and...
  • And Starts Again
  • starts again. After all her reps she will end on her last rep with the armbar!!!

Looks like a great drill for working both sides for armbar from mount!!!

I love this drill!!!

Lucky is the man who never has to confront what he is truly capable of.

Not a bad drill at all. We do this at our gym a lot too. Definitely a good one to get your body used to that motion.

great drill!

Do I wanna fight?
Hell yeah I wanna fight!

gonna try this out tonight!!! thanks

i'm probably not as experienced as the most of you but we do a similar drill where i train. instead of the "roll back/out" after step 4 we scissor our legs taking us back into the mount. just a suggestion...should make the drill "flow" a little smoother. i like this drill...i like feeling dizzy.

we just did this in class a few weeks ago its a good drill

looks nice i think i will try this next time im rollin

i know you didnt see that one coming but it wouldnt have mattered cause your chin was high and your hands down away!
