Jab Drill
![]() |
This drill is great for developing your jab and shoulder muscles. It can be done with a partner, on a heavy bag or in the air.
The drill is simple, get into your fighting stance and throw a single jab. Then reset and throw 2 jabs. Then 3 jabs, etc. go all the way to ten jabs. After you get to Ten, throw Ten again, then 9, then 8 - all the way back down to 1. Then rest, or hold for your partner and then do the set again.
Here is a video of Tim doing the first couple portions:

yeah doing this to 10, then counting back from 10 is a heck of a jab builder
it ends up being 100 jabs, and my shoulder ends up being dead!
nice vid 2
uuuu....that must be tiring...
The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.

i'll try it today.
thanks.
Do I wanna fight?
Hell yeah I wanna fight!

Thank you for this! I have been using it with my fighters and I can tell in their sparing that hand speed has improved.

I hate this drill but it does help quit a bit when I'm sparing. I have no problem keeping my left hand in somone's face for 3 min
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow"
This is a great drill that I started using after I saw this. I hate it.
But that's a good thing.
You're not drunk if you can lie on the ground without holding on.
This drill is rough, but because of it I think my jab is a much more dangerous weapon for me. Thanks.

How critical do you get on technique as your fighters get close to 100 jabs?
Is your front foot supposed to take a small step with each jab, once you start doing the multiple jabs?

Bullfight critics ranked in rows
crowd the enormous plaza full.
But only one is there who knows
and he's the man who fights the bull.
yup, tricky part is staying balanced so you don't get caught with a punch or takedown. when you punch don't make them arm punches, use as many muscles of your body as you can. with the jab i use my rear leg muscles, shoulder and tricep. i focus on transferring energy starting from my leg through my arm through the other guys face.
HERE IS AN IDEA......WHY DONT YOU WORK ON FORMING A JAB INSTEAD OF THROWING MILLIONS OF THEM WHEN YOU GET YOUR FORM DOWN YOU MAY HAVE A LITTLE MORE SOMTHING WITH THAT JAB. (WORKS FOR ALL THINGS TO COME WHEN FIGHTING)
JJmtguym that is importabt as well, this is posted in the drill section, not the striking section.
the jabs realy important in a fight this drill allows you to be able to keep your hands up for long periods of time and continue to punch so you dont tire and drop your hands its a really efective drill love it
i allso like the ten leg kick drill its just the same but the leg real effective real tireing
