Slip & Block Drill

Here's a great drill for practicing basic head movement and body blocks.

Lockflow.com would like to thank ScientificStreetFighting.net for donating their great rash guard. Make sure you check out their site and great line of gear!

  • Step 1
  • Issac and Eddie square off
  • Step 2
  • Issac delivers a jab at Eddie's face, who slips to the outside of the punch. Eddie is careful to keep his eyes up, chin down, and hands up bending slightly forward and to the right to avoid Issac's punch.
  • Step 3
  • Issac throws a right punch, and Eddie slips to his left side, ust enough to miss the punch
  • Step 4
  • Issac throws a left hook, Eddie bends at the knees and rolls under the punch, rotating the right shoulder back as he goes under.
  • Step 5
  • Issac then throws a right hook to Eddie's head, Eddie bands at the knees and rolls to his left - under Issac's hook
  • Step 6
  • Issac punches at the right side of Eddie's body as Eddie protects his right side with his bent right arm leaning slightly into the block
  • Step 7
  • Issac then comes back with the right hook to the body, which Eddie blocks on his left side.
