Hey.. I just stumbled upon a great idea on a website. It's a way of training yourself to do 100 pushups in a row.. I'm currently doing P90X but that makes you do all kinds of pushups and I'm having trouble with the basics.. So my goal is to accomplish this first and then I'll be ready for P90X once again.. Tonight I do 10, then 10, 8, and 6 pushups.. after 6 weeks I'll be up to 100.. Anyone else want to try this??? Look out Brock :) haha Hey, I"m a Pink Jacket!! What?
http://hundredpushups.com/index.html
oh yeah.. also.. i will be able to do 20 pullup's by the end of the 6 weeks too..

Hope it works out for you. My current best on pushups right now is 86, and my pullups vary between 20-25.

only talk when walking is not enough
only hold when talking is not enough
only hurt when holding is not enough
only maim when hurting is not enough
only kill when maming is not enough

That's awesome if you end up being able to do the 100! I'm only 125-130lbs, so 100+ isn't so hard for me, but I may try the 20 pullups workout cuz I don't think I can do that one.

you want a nice workout

my sensei calls it the thaishodo 21

you start with 21 push ups
then do 20 push ups and 1 plyo squat
then 19 and 2
so one and so forth

at 0 pushups and 21 squats you then reverse it
20 squats 1 push up
till your back to 21 push ups

if you do with alone with 10 push ups then you get 100 squats and 109 push ups i believe

its pretty intense

i never said it was easy

im usually on the ground for a minute or two trying to let my muscles recover after

we usually feed off each other tho when doing this everyone is dead tired, your running off all your energy the first few minutes (thats a warm up)
and you just feed off someone counting out how many
keep focusing on 5 more, 4 more, 3 more

our instructor said we may not hit hardest, we may not know every submissions
but damn if were not gunna be tough as nails and out working everyone around us

since joining there ive sparred with a few people who took different things, one did hapkido, one TKD and one aikido and i outworked everyone
ive even out wrestled kids on my old high school wrestling team who went to states just cause they get too tired to keep going

I'm in. I've been slacking off a lot lately.

My wife and I have a baby on the way so she's been following her cravings and I've been eating right along with her. Gotta knock that crap off.

I like doing Hindu push ups so I'm going to throw some of those in there as well.

I don't know about 100 without a break but here is my Perfect Push Up routine:
2 or 3 times a week

25, 20, 15 legs on a chair
25, 20, 15 normal
25, 20, 15 wide
25, 20, 15 close

a total of 240 but I take a break between each set.

When we have circuits we usually finish with a 100 pushup challenge. I can still do it at, but I need to be motivated. Who said I didn't learn anything in the service

Thats the thing about the military, you workout weather you feel like it or not. There is no calling in sick (at least not in the marine corps) and if you cant train, you get rode hard LOL.
Thats why Im so geared toward working out, and my pullups are great b/c thats what we were tested on, so pullups were worked into our workouts basically everyday.

Here is the big thing. Lots of people when I was in the army always bragged about their last PT test doing 90-100 pushups in the 2 Mins. 95% of the time it was total BS. Doing 100 perfect and true to form push-ups in a row is insanely hard. Not saying it can not be done, but you have to train your body for it. Just like everything else.
Remember there is a board connecting your shoulders and ankles. this line can not be broken or the pushup does not count. Those guys who were knocking out 90-100 in their "last tests" would hit the 50-60 mark on a proper grade. I always tell my guys " I would rather you do 10 correct ones than 40 incorrect ones" Doing it right builds the muscles we want to target and just humping the grounds makes you tired and the ground happy.

Kind of off topic, but me and my little brother were playing video games together.
I made it more interesting by having us do 10 pushups everytime one of our guys died.
We did three rounds and had five guys each round so we did around 150 pushups each after about 30 minutes. It got realy interesting when 3-4 of our guys died at once.

This was a realy cool way to make a workout fun. And a good way to get my brother to try to attack me when I killed his guys.

+100

and i might add some of this in to my workouts. ill be happy if i can do 100 consecutive push ups. my best right now is right around 40 or 50 then they get sloppier.

I joined the Army in May 2001, my first PT test I did 32 correct push ups. With hard work and good form over time I now do 94 on every PT test. The most I ever got 103. I had to pratice alot to have good form and knock out that many, but if you put your mind to it it can be done. I can do 100 but I like 2minutes and 15seconds to get there. I am not big about 152lbs. I do 18 deadhang pull ups, palms out shoulder width grip.

I can't do real nice pushups. I try though. But right now, I haven't been doing many pushups or anything that puts weight on my hands because they are both injured and they hurt when I put weight on them

Hey, but at least I can still play the violin without pain :D

One of the things my guys always loved in my company was the little nuggets of wisdom like that I would throw out during the PT sessions.
I even tell my guys at practice here " Hate me all you want, in fact I want you to hate me. Because the more tired you are, the more you want the bad man to stop, the stronger you become. Because at the end of the night you can hate me all you want, and I will still sleep just fine"
