ANABOLIC REBOUND DIET!
If you are like me and do not have the benefits of a high metabolism then read on.
Being that I have a mediocre metabolism meaning I have a meso/endomorph bodytype, I have always struggled with finding a suitable diet for my personal needs. I have always been able to pack on muscle really easy but fat always follows. Being that my body is carb and fat sensitive I have to constantly monitor how I eat which isnt a problem for me since I eat healthy year round but I have yet to find that happy medium. If I take in too many carbs I feel sluggish and soft, not enough carbs and I perform poorly the same goes for saturated fats which can affect testosterone levels and other hormones. In short, Im not genetically gifted and lucky for me there are some highly educated, pro performance athletes out there just like me who are willing to share their wisdom.
I got the following diet from Elliot Hulse who is a pro strongman and a CSCS strength and conditioning coach. This guy #1 admits to having the same types of problems as me and #2 is posting this stuff for free and sharing his experiences with the diet. Ive been using this diet for 2 weeks now and Ive already dropped from 176lbs. to 168lbs. as of this morning and whats even better is that my performance has not been adversely affected. Im still strong and still making gains only Im leaner.
Basic outline:
MON/TUES- low carb, high fat, high protein
WED- Fast, no food 24hrs.
THURS/FRI- low carb, low fat, high protein
SAT/SUN- high carb, high fat, high protein
Food examples:
-On Mon-Tues you are allowed things like whole eggs, butter and cheese in portion controlled amounts. For example 4 whole eggs in tsp butter and 3 strips pork bacon for one meal, roast beef wrapped around 1 slice cheese for another meal. Still sticking to the basic principle of eating every 3 hours.
-On Wed. no food for 24hrs. so if you eat your last meal at 9pm on Tues then no food until 9pm on Wed. I know what you are thinking, that fast day looks intimidating but a few tips that help- Drink plenty of fluids including water and coffee and stay active. I workout on this day as well and actually feel strong contrary to how I thought I would feel.
-On Thurs-Fri keep it lean. Egg whites cooked in PAM with lean bacon, grilled chicken, lean porkchops etc.
-On Sat-Sun RELOAD! Eat things like pancakes (easy on the syrup, prefer sugar free), oatmeal, whole eggs, pork, beef, brown rice etc.
Basic Rundown:
Mon-Tues are used to prime your body for Wed. the fasting day. The high fat intake is so that on Wed. when you dont eat, your body is forced to use fat for energy and like I said I dont feel weak at all on my fasting day.
Thurs-Fri are your depletion days. By staying low carb after your fasting day you are trying to deplete muscle tissue of glycogen so that your body is forced to once again resort to fat for energy.
Sat-Sun is your RELOAD day. You are basically resetting your metabolism and getting primed for the following week of low carb days. This is also the time to get rid of those nasty food cravings LOL! Mon. is usually my heavy day since Im all carbed up but dont overdo it. Maintain portion control and stop eating high carb before you start to feel bloated or sluggish.
Sorry so long but this diet has really helped me out so I figured Id share.
http://jasonferruggia.com/ has some REALLY good info on carb cycling. You should check it out. Diet makes the biggest difference in the world. I have recently switched over to ALL organic, no dairy, and no red meat diet. HOLY SHIT do I feel good. Unending energy and the gains and recovery are unbelievable. Using a raw hemp protein powder for protein. How much protein are you taking in on those 'high protein' days tat?
thanks guys this is what i was looking for. Very informative stuffs.

FREESTYLE AMERICAN SHOOT TEAM Thanks to eagles for the sig!

two questions.
what fluids other than water and coffee are allowed on fasting day?
would there be a benefit to switching a work out day to the fasting day?
if you cant beat them, arrange to have them beaten.
