Does anyone else think that Travis Lutter should be banned from the UFC? He is the douche bag who gets a chance of a lifetime to fight for the belt and he doesn't make weight. Silva gives him the fight anyways and subs him. Lutter then goes on to say later that he would beat Silva up and that he just got "caught." Now he fights Franklin and clearly did not work on his cardio cuz after the first half of round 1 he looked like shit. This guy just bugs me and the fact that he is given chances in the UFC kills me. Oh well that's the end of my rant.

I'm also not a Lutter fan. A ban is probably too harsh, but here's what bugs me:

He said after TUF that he doesn't like having coaches.
He rides sports bikes (dumb for any professional athlete, see Frank Mir or Ben Rothelsburgerererer).
He didn't make weight for Silva.

He looked good until Franklin got out of that arm bar. Then he went to crap. It was pretty ugly. Combine that with the Starnes fight and I say this card that looked pretty good turned to crap pretty quick.

He really did look unprepared. As a pro fighter to gas after 1 round is really unacceptable. I don't know about banning him, but he doesn't belong in the UFC at this point. Make him work his way back up through the smaller shows. At this point he needs to prove that he can fix his cardio issues.

Beware: What you are about to see is very graphic, so if there are small children in the room make sure that they don't disturb you.

He needs to go away. After he didn't make weight, he seemed like he wanted a second chance real bad. But after tonight, he needs to just pack it in. He gives ALL jiu-jitsu guys a bad name. Every guy who is a legit black belt just seems to come in looking for the sub. Whenever someone defends their takedown and has a halfway decent standup, the jits guys gas. Thats sad, considering how hard a lot of people worked to make jits a force in the sport. If you aren't going to train some cardio or standup, you have no business getting in the cage with the best fighters in the world.

What amazes me about Lutter is that he thinks those same crappy takedown from three feet away are going to work. He has to have the WORST takedown setup in all of MMA. I think he should have spent more time worrying about his cardio, takedown setups, and "Ace;" before saying that he wanted another shot at Anderson Silva.

Idiot.

Trying does not make it happen; making it happen, makes it happen.

Well with his record and tonights loss..I think we have seen the last of Travis Lutter.
I doubt they will offer him another contract

I don't think sherdogging the guy on the net is uncalled for. He was in there with some tough guys and came up short.

Rich Franklin & Anderson Silva are elite level fighters, I dont think anyone on here would do any better against them.
In fact if Travis Lutter walked into anybodys gym here, my bet is that he would whoop a$$.
Calling a guy you don't know names for doing something you couldn't do better is a bit much IMO.

i see y Lutter was on TUF 4: The Comeback. he has great jiu-jitsu, however thatz pretty much all he has. if he improved his wrestling, striking defense, and cardio. he would b a good contender.

yup he definitly needs to work on cardio. That's the thing that P's me off the most when watching a fight- when someone gets tired too early. I could understand if it was late in the second or third. But come on, he looked terrible tonight! He must have known he was not in good shape, and was hoping to come off with a quick submission. I must admit I was scared when he had Rich's back at the beginning. LOL at Franklin's "I was instilling a sense of false confidence" when he was almost armbarred :)

How many times has he not made weight? And then he talks crap about Silva again. Horrible man.

At least make weight if your attempt to back it up.

Well im pretty sure he had a number of fights left on his ufc contract winning TUF and all but he is not an entertaining fighter point blank. He looks to be a awesome grappler but every fight starts standing up.

i know you didnt see that one coming but it wouldnt have mattered cause your chin was high and your hands down away!

sorry man, I meant to refer his first fight with Silva. He should have cut weight for that fight and he lost that fight and he's still talking about Silva.

Once.

As far as I know he has only missed his weight one time. He was supposed to come in at 185 and I think he came in at 187.

Rich Franklin took two beatings from Silva and is still talking about going and getting a rematch.

I have no problem with people criticizing someone's skills online. Lutter would whip me every day of the week and twice on Sunday, but I'm not getting paid to show people what I can do in the ring. He is. That's his choice, and when he made it he opened himself up for the criticism.
