Im not really that big of a lutter fan. I cant believe he gets the chance of a lifetime and then doesnt even train hard for it and just slacks off.

Arm bars are mad effective! they are not really as easy as they look either unless you do have the multiple years of training, doing one on a nonresisting opponent during your bjj class is one thing... going out there and getting it on a former champion (and school teacher lol) is another.

Props to Lutter for his attempted armbar... god knows he tried, and he knows as well.

How do you know he slacked off?

I think he did what all fighters do, he tried to stay as stong and heavy as he could till he had to fight.
Cutting weight is tough, sometime it dosen't go well.

I'm sure that nobody kicks himslef harder then he does about it.

Mercury616----Thanks man.

I just can relate to this, you train your guts out everyday to perform at a sport..then get to the game and either have an off night or come up short. Then you get some pudgy spectator waddle over and think he can tell you what your mistake was, and what you did wrong because he bought a ticket?!?
Scr*w that!
It's the UFC not burger king..you won't always get it your way!
It's easy to get on the net and Sherdog some guy you are never gonna meet. But answer me this honestly keyboard warriors, what would you say to the guy if he was standing in front of you?
I don't believe in saying stuff about somebody behind their back that I wouldn't say to their face.

Rich better have thanked Jorge...that armbar would have had most guys.
Rich Franklin showed great standup, Travis has never been great at that.
But you could learn something by watching how he took Franklin down and passed...kept control..armbar was fast. Masterful really.

See how I can talk about the fight, but remain respectful of the fighters...this is what I'm talking about.

okay this seems to have been blown way out of proportion.... you can comment on both fighters and fights. If the fight sucked it's because one or both of the fighters sucked. You can say why he sucked- didn't have cardio\skills whatever, but you don't have to call him names or anything. And the banned thing I thought was not even serious, just an exaggeration. And if travis lutter was right in front of me I would tell him what I honestly thought of his fight- he did good at first but he really, really, really needs to work on his cardio. I don't have to be disrespectful to him, but if a fighter did really badly you're not gonna lie and say he did fine.

"It's the UFC not burger king..you won't always get it your way! "

lol, i heard that!!! Man, i ate a cheeseburger before a wrestling match when i was in junior high because it was easy and cheap... i ended up being thrown on my friggin neck (think Fedor when he fought Randleman) and puking my guts up on the mat... Two weeks later, i ate right (and faced the same opponent, whom i didnt puke on fortunately lol) and warmed up. I ended up in the semi finals, but lost because i just couldn't pin my opponent and eventually gave up... my fault i lost. I kick myself in the ass for it too. I coulda been champ but i F**KED up and left as a chump lol
