Hey guys,

One of my buddies said he'd like a good beginner's BJJ book for his birthday.  He's got no real martial arts experience yet, so I'm looking for something ultra-basic.  I was reading the reviews section here and thought that Saulo Ribeiro's Jiu Jitsu University might be good, but I'd like to get some input from folks here before picking one.

There's a nice beginner book by Royler and Renzo simply called Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  It worked well for me.

It is what it is, with or without your reaction.

I've heard good things about JJ University, and Greg Jackson's book. Royler's nogi book looks really good as well.
