i am in desperate need of a canvas for my boxing ring.. my trainer and i just recently started our own gym.. we have a ring and everything but the guy who owns the building has been using it for the last 20 years to host sparring matches so its in real bad shape.. its covered in stains from blood and dirt. we r tying to get everything together to start recruiting people to train so the new canvas is one of our main priorities due to the fact that nobody wants to step foot on that thing lol and we dont have the funds right now to buy a new one.. so if anybody has an old canvas or knows where i can get a new one cheap please let me know. it would be greatly appreciated.

What is the size of the ring. That will make a huge difference on whether it is $150 or $450 a standard 20x20 canvas tarp is about $150 but if the ring is a 22x22 or 24x24 you will have to get one from a boxing supplier or have on custom made. So figure out what size you need and start from that. A photo of the ring might be helpful as well. Good Luck.

Why do people get so unnerved when I smile during sparring?  I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't like it right?!?

This might sound crazy but attempt to steam clean the canvas . I know it will help get the ground in dirt which in turn with help with some of the grip issues . Or you could order the material online and crudely attach it with gorilla glue i sections either way it would attempt to make the situation better. Question are you using it for pure boxing/kickboxing sparing or are people going to the ground on it? Because if people are just striking on it rent a heavy duty steamer and have at it . If people are rolling you have to worry about MRSA and such .

i know you didnt see that one coming but it wouldnt have mattered cause your chin was high and your hands down away!

we already tried steam cleaning it and it didnt do anything lol we tried a shampooer and pretty much anything we could think of and it didnt help.. but we train ground and everything on it so the best bet is just to get a new one.. i found some pretty good ones on that website so i think that will work.. thanks guys

If you have been on zebra mats then you've been on vinyl mats. They do have a texture pattern though. Not sure if the boxing mats will. I really didn't take a good look at the ones i seen. I wouldn't be fan of rolling on canvas. I would think that it would just soak up all the sweat and be a breading ground for all the nasty stuff. Then again i really do not know much about canvas rings.
