I agree, don't use them for bag work. The bags shouldn't really hurt the shins if your kicking right, plus it'll help make them tougher.
When I did straight kick boxing we all used these all the time for training/sparring. I'd recommend them for light sparring but if your going all out I'd get the bigger mma type ones.
Yeah, no good for bag work as that is what toughens your shins up. (The small fractures in the bones form trebeculi) Just remember you never want to kick with your instep. The Metatarcels are some of the smallest and morst easily breakable bones in the body. IE watch your distance 
These would be good for checking kicks drills. Not sparring. And you don't wear shin guards when you kick the bag, come on man, Party foul.






















i have a pair that i dont really use unless its a more intense session. they do the job and for the price you cant go wrong. i dont think they are really necessary for bag work though.
if you cant beat them, arrange to have them beaten.
