I have always been involved with MA but am a novice in the grappling arts. My question is regarding curing ring worm. Today beffore my no-gi class one of my seniors pointed out to me the bump on my arm was this treacherous foe. I thought is was a spider bite.

It made me wanna cry when I knew i had to watch practice instead of participate. Jiu-jitsu is my crack and i need my fix! I need to get back on the mats asap.

I shaved the area, and bought lotrimin powder spray, and pro clearz brush on antifungal.

I recieved lot of different advice how to cure it fast, do any of you guys have any super secret ninja healing techniques?

Fastest thing I've found is to take a qtip and put dabs of bleach on it and let them dry. Do that like 5 times in an hour. You'll get a little chemical burn but it will kill all the surface stuff. Wash it good a little later and use Lotramin Ultra...best stuff I've found. I'd say you'd be non-contagious in about 3 or 4 days. But keep using it for the prescribed 7-14 days or it will comeback.

Best I got man. Good luck!

I dont' think there is anything bad that can come from adding more medicine, but it's only gonna heal so fast.

Please for the sake of your teammates DON'T ROLL until it is gone. I would recommend going to a doctor and they will probably either put you on a regimen of antibiotics or give you some type of cream for it. If you caught it early it should go away fairly fast. Hopefully you have some type of health insurance, the co-pay will be cheap and it will maybe cost you two to three dollars for the actual prescription.

Uggh that shit gives me the heeby jeebies just hearing about it. Hope you can get back to rolling soon. Smile

First things first, make sure it is ringworm. Here is a picture of what ringworm tends to look like. If you are not sure, get it checked out!

If it is ringworm, then i suggest Lotrimin Ultra. I have had a lot of success with it but everyone reacts differently to medications so your results may very. I too have used it more than twice a day ( 3 or 4 times) and not had any problems but you really should follow the instructions. There is also some natural remedies out there like tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil.

I would not train until you cant see it anymore plus a day. Don't be that guy who just covers it up and still trains. Covering does nothing but hide an infection from your training partners. Nothing pisses me off more then when someone does this. I have been hospitalized and put my kids at risk because i unknowingly trained with someone who hid an infection.

I totally agree with the guys saying don't roll. Take these couple weeks to work on cardio. I've heard that the whole bleech and finger nail polish doesn't work, just burns the skin. So now you have ring worm and chemical burns. I think your best bet is Lotrimin Ultra with a band aid over it, that is if you're gonna pass on seeing a Doctor. Good luck to ya!

Catch ring worm early and use Lamisil. I've used every anti fungal out there and have had the best results with lamisil. Only cream I use now.

yeah that's definitely what it looks like. I don't plan on rolling untill it's gone.
