i dont like the way you have to pull yourself into high mount. Or the fact that the guy that had him mounted wasnt doing anything to stop it and he still could barely pull it off.

I agree with twb, that tekk is technically flawed.

You can simply do a thrusthing mount escape but instead of going to the full guard as Ryron does at the beginning of the video you can simply do a thrusthing mount escape to the right and bring your left leg over for leg control.

Yeah I agree, I don't see that escape working on anyone with a few months of training. You might hit it on a new guy but the technique just pins you down too much and puts you in high mount with your arms exposed. The guy on top can just transition to s mount and take an arm quickly.

i'd have to agree there was so many options for submissions before the escape even became availible and then relies on too much to pull off

Hate to pee in everyone's cheerios, but I use something very similar to this almost weekly to great effect. on purple belts and non-noobs. Though not all the way to a half-crab achillies unless they are a noob. But I drop them into a heel hook or achillies pretty easy almost everytime. When upas, elbow escapes and bridge'n'rolls fail me, I go for this. Its not fool-proof, but its not a pice of crap either. I don't like the way this guy is doing it, he's leaving his arms more exposed than I would. But its similar.

I use an escape very similar to this... not for sure of the name of it though other than back door escape.

I can usually pull it off a few times until I've done it to them some and then they wise up to it.

I usually bridge real hard first to make them post out with their hands and then Ill place my hands in their armpits and bridge again. This is when Ill bring my feet behind me and place them in their armpits for the escape!

Just the facts maam.

Here's Josh Barnett doing what I tried to describe with words above. At the 4:20 mark his opponent mounts and he uses the thrusting escape and brings his leg over for the Outside/High leg control and gets the tap.

Similar to what taoryu posted but Josh has more control of his opponent's hips which allows him to off balance them and get leg control.

Now I dont have a problem with being mounted and swinging your leg around and getting a "leg saddle" or whatever its called and going for a lower body lock. I have used that before to escape but I dont have to pull myself into high mount and risk getting armbar'd or triangled!

Yeah, I can't see anybody with high mount letting their ass off of your chest long enough to get away with that. The guy in the video literally takes a doggy style posture while he has high mount... kind of weird.

Thank you for your comments! They are all constructive! But I am anxious to specify that it is a video of demonstration and it is not good quality!! The subtleties are not evident and it would be necessary to redo it in better quality! Still thank you for making the effort to criticize!

nice escapes. i am gonna practise those. see if they work for me. mount escape is a very hard position to get out of. especially if a good grappler knows how to ride you. so, thanks.

I've definitely been able to bridge people who are in high mount hard enough to pop out the back, but nothing like this. Basically I work my elbows inside their thighs, then bridge and push them up and myself underneath them, so that I escape out from underneath. From there it's a scramble.

I really want to like this balisong, being inordinately fond of the half Boston crab, but it seems like your opponent has to make a couple mistakes and not capitalize on the armbar in order to pull it off. That said, I'm nust some n00b watching videos on the internet. If it works for you, awesome.
