So I was wondering if anyone had any tips on getting up and running in the morning. Ive been trying to run at 5 am but I'm finding myself very sluggish when Gettin up and my runs aren't as intense because I just don't have the energy. I go to bed the night before around 10ish. Some of my buddies use supplements like no xplode in the morning to get themselves going for an early workout before work. Any suggestions?

I've found you should eat a little before you run, fruit or atleast protein shake, granola, something light and atleast 30 min prior so your glucose levels go up. If you're trying to run right after you get up and on an empty stomach your body does not have the proper energy, hence why you feel sluggish and you actually burn muscle instead of fat if you run on empty stomach.

Or you can drink raw eggs like Rocky. Wink

It is what it is, with or without your reaction.

Baby food and/or raw honey! Baby food tastes great if you get he right kind and its instant energy b/c its already broken down into mush so your body doesnt have to digest it. I prefer 'apple cinnamon granola'. Honey is great as well b/c its pure, fast digesting carbs and natural sugar.

With baby foods. Most are way overpriced and have added starchy thickeners, sugars and salts to make up for 50% of the actual product. So the nutritional value is very little compared to real foods. Compare labels and prices but the best energy comes from live or fresh foods.

If you run on an empty stomach in the morning you're burning the fat / carbs already on your body, not so much muscle. If you do low intensity (jogging) then you burn fat and if you do high intensity you burn carbs first. Easy way to tell between high and low intensity is that you should be able to talk while running and not get winded. Wake up and have some water, not really something sugary. An egg white or 2 to get the metabolism going. Something small for sure. So that way you aren't just burning what you ate during the run instead of the fat cells already created.

Awesome thanks for the help guys! I've been using the honey trick and it's working pretty good!
