alright I was thinking about gogoplata one night (f'n insomnia). here's what I thought of: from crackhead control, hook your right foot into the back of your left knee. from there work the crossface and get the gogo plata (with left leg) since your legs are hooked together, wouldn't that make it a lot tighter? it may not work I haven't had a chance to try it out. if it does work, i guess it's already been thought of. any opinions? glaring flaws?

Just wondering, is a move like this worth working on if i've only been doing BJJ for like 6 months? It looks awesome

how would you hook your right foot into the back of your left knee? over your opponent's arms?

That variation at the end looks just plain mean.

The opponent's arms will be across the legs in crackhead or regular rubber guard. Crackhead helps to break the person down by using weight/strength of both legs. I'm not sure if the leg would be long enough to hook the other knee as you rotate over for gogoplata. I think it would be an option because frequently with myself the leg gets caught (in this case the right leg) as you bring it across the opponents body.

why not when i first started submission grappling practice it was the like the third sub i learned (albeit i am lanky and flexible)

i think it would depend on the person doind try it on a partners not rolling just see if u have flexiblity and more importantly if it feels natural to u... if not practice it and put it on the back burner

It's all a puzzle, isn't it, Joseph? Like a game of chess, perhaps. The pieces move, apparently aimlessly, but always towards one single objective: to kill the king. But who is the king in this game, Joseph? That is the question you must ask yourself.

Nice variation. I have been trying to get my Gogo's from an open guard postion and not off of the Omoplata.

I think I am going to give this one a try!!!

That variation is very nice.
With the original combination this could also be reversed back to the omo, get them coming and going.
