I'm not worried about GSP...I'm worried about Bruce Lee's no pain feeling corpse suddenly coming out of the ground and fighting people
depends, if gsp goes do push bruce around. and he doesn't know him, his speed, strength, skills etc. i think bruce would win. cause he would be too fast. throw a sucker punch. \
another scenario. say if they met up somewhere, started arguing. than they just started fighting out of the blue. will i think bruce would win it again. he is just too fast.
speed counts alot in a streetfight. plus, bruce's style is eye gouge, biting etc.
if it was a streetfight where they planned to fight on the street. will maybe gsp would win. cause he is used to planned fights. he would know what to do.
example is tito and lee murray. tito had co clue how fast murray was, or that he trains also. but in a cage, tito would probably do alot better.
In a street fight, Bruce Lee. While I think a lot of MMA translates to street fighting I firmly believe that Bruce Lee in a true street fight would pull out all the tricks even though he's quite a bit smaller. Put a cage around them and add some rules and I don't know how effective Bruce would be. I know he grappled far before grappling was grappling, but I don't know how solid he was by todays standards.

GSP.
Lee could take a quarter out of your hand a replace it with a penny before you could clench your fist shut. On the street he'd replace your eye with a penny. I don't think that would be his first resort, but the man was quicker and stronger than most people can even imagine.

what about godzilla vs abe Lincoln?
wasn't bruce lee dead before gsp was born?
yea. chuck norris dim mak'd him since he couldn't win a fair fight. Also, I'm with BruceLeroy. Lee would kicked GSP in the nuts, followed by the face. Repeatedly. Finish with head stomp.

gsp
hard sparring session is like a cold shower in a warm day. It feels good.
like i said before. speed counts alot in streetfight. and gsp didn't train himself to be vicious. bruce lee did. he encouraged eye gouging, kicking in the balls, biting etc. any means.
i totally agree with bruceleeroy.
There's no debate here. Lee takes this one whether it's in a cage or the street. Everyone seems to forget that lee came out victorious in a room full of mirrors against a dude that could change hi hand into any weapon he liked. A cage with gsp in it would be nothing

I would definitely go with GSP, he fights everyday and is an elite athlete. Bruce Lee was definitely an accomplished martial artist and philosopher but didn't fight the best in the world. I'm curious as to what you guys think Bruce Lee could do to GSP.

dont forget bruce lee weighed about 130 pounds and was like 5'6'', and his known fighting credentials are a couple of street fights and some boxing matches in high school.
Bruce Lee defeated Chuck Norris at the Roman Colosseum. Enough said.

GSP can military press Bruce Lee's entire body weight with one arm. No joke, I've seen him repping with 110 dumbbells. Bruce Lee, as much as I love and respect him, wouldn't last more than two or three minutes. He's just wildly overmatched. If Lee fought MMA he'd fight at bantamweight or lower.
Actual fight with dick-kicks and throat shots...Bruce Lee would probably have more, as well as the obvious weapons training advantage.
However, the best post was given by Taurus. If Lee just climbed out of his grave to fight, I'm fairly certain nobody is stopping him.

Forget the Korean Zombie, Bruce Lee Zombie for the win.
When I'm sad I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.

Just to further expand on my point.......Lee and GSP had 2 totally different mind sets when it comes to competition.
A story -
My former boss has a son in law who is special forces. He would always ask me if I thought I could "beat him up". My response..
1 - I would always be up to rolling or sparring, is always fun. I think in this environment I would fair very well. Don't know fully what type of training he's had as far as BJJ or Muay Thai etc etc.
2 - "beat him up" as in a life or death street fight type scenario I'm sure I wouldn't last long at all.
I train for sport, as does GSP. Special forces guys, military and people like Bruce Lee trained to incopacitate by any means, lethal force and strikes.
So what would I think Lee would do to him in a street fight? GSP comes in for takedown, gets eye gouged, bit, throat punched and his nuts ripped off.
While Bruce Lee may not have fought the best in the world he was 'jumped' on many occasions (depending on which stories about him you beleive.) These were street fight anything goes situations. I don't know that GSP has ever been in that type fight?

Do you really think it is realistic to be able eye gouge, throat chop and castrate a guy in the time it takes for him to shoot a double? Don't get me wrong eye gouging could work, but its such a small target I wouldn't call it high percentage. Throat chops, I don't see happening with a fighter that is used to keeping his chin down. And most guys have become quite adept at guarding the nut shots. You mention that in the street the goal is to incapacitate your opponent as quickly as possible, how is that any different than sport. The only difference between the two is terrain and a few added low percentage "dirty tactics". I say GSP would take it. Now this is my opinion on strictly hand to hand combat. If weapons are involved that's a whole different story.

surprised no one suggested their would be a nc or draw lol

What if GSP had nunchucks and Bruce Lee had Vaseline?

LOL@ the vaseline comment...
gsp would smash bruce lee hands down.he'd woop his ass easly.bruce lee is the shit but more in a tv kinda way.he could beat guys who train the style of martile arts that they do.but mma is a whole other thing to deal with.if that was the case you'd see guys in that art smashing cats in mma.but they dont.so in a street fight.witch is a fight for your life.gsp would eat bruce lee for dinner.pankration rules.
I am getting the impression that if we are discussing a fight truly w/ no rules, that some of you all expect GSP to hold himself to to some higher code of conduct as a fighter. Are his French-Canadian sensibilities too evolved to allow him to gouge & bite? And those are not exactly elite techniques; we were gouging and biting before we could walk.
I am not seeing where Bruce Lee's supposed combat skills of which all of us have heard only stories would fare against a much larger opponent who is arguably the best pound for pound professional MMA fighter.
And biting wouldn't work anyway b/c GSP would taste like Vaseline and gravy fries.

GSP used to be a bouncer so I have some confidence that he has experienced "dirty tactics" on occassion. He also told a story of a time where he had to break a guy's arm b/c the guy pulled a knife on him. It was during a press conference, some reporter asked him if he ever had to use his skills outside of the octagon.
However, Bruce Lee was famous for having awesome accuracy. There are stories of people talking and they would feel a flick on their ear and it was from Bruce kicking them just barely. He did screw up once and broke a dude's jaw (the story was in one of his biographies, can't remember the name).
I still however would have to give the edge to a guy that is bigger, stronger, better wrestling and ground game. Bruce trained on the ground but his arm bar defense was to bite someone on the leg. If I had an armbar and you bit me, I'm ripping that bastard off and beating you with it...

I love that people give Bruce the nod for eye gouging and ball kicks. Who's to say GSP can't do the same?

GSP...fighting as a whole has evolved in leaps and bounds since the death of Bruce Lee, alot of that evolution is due to Lee, but he missed out on several advancements. Bruce Lee beat up thugs in street fights that didn't know anything about fighting. GSP dominates elite athletes who do nothing but train techs to win fights. GSP would fake a punch and shoot a double taking Bruce down and then raise up and drop a couple solid forearms to the face and that would be it.

Never argue with an idiot, cause he'll bring you down to his level and beat you with experience
GSP by GnG(ground and gouge). He would also knee balls as he passes guard.
