GsubX: Seattle Grappling Tournament

Seattle's always been a hot bed of martial arts. It's definitely nice to see that tradition continue with the great grappling and MMA community up here.

That is fantastic. Wouldn't be able to call it a real competition without a few of the guys from Charlie's Combat Club.

Showing some appreciation. We want to reach as many schools as we can, but there are a few places that are especially important to us to have represented. C3 is one of those places.

I'll post here so everyone knows who we are. I was Ivan Salaverry's assistant and the manager of his gym for about four years, so you and I have met in passing a few times. I think you also know my sister in law Dawn.

Ivan and I partnered to create what we hope is a classy, competitive, local grappling tournament right in Seattle. So far it's gone really well, I'm especially proud of the georgeous resilite mats we have, and now we just want to spread the word about our first tournament, Oct. 22 at Cleveland High School's brand new gym.

Thanks again for meeting with Ivan and I the other day, we are pretty excited to have good crew from c3 at the event.

Thanks, we appreciate the well wishes. The Revolution, put on by Liberty Events, is a fantastic tournament. But it's based Bonney Lake, is not exclusively no gi, and in four years has only taken place in Seattle once. That being said it has always been a favorite of ours to compete in, and a model we look to as a classy, well run tournament. As a matter of fact Jeff, who runs the tournament, was kind enough to review our rules and suggest a few tweaks. We can't say enough good things about them, and we know that they are behind us as well.
