I have some slight pain in my right shoulder. I figured it was just sore, but I started moving it around and noticed that it was popping.
It pops in two different positions (as far as I can tell)

If I move my arm quickly to the position on the left in this picture.

It also occurs if I shrug my shoulder up very high.

It has only been happening today, but I am very nervous about a rotator cuff tear.
Do you guys think I should continue training on it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear you are having problem. I can't really help you in this case. There are so many different things that can go wrong with shoulders that without a exam I wouldn't know where to start. All I can tell you is if it continues to bother you go see a Ortho doc. Good Luck

Can't we all just get along?

Maybe your rotator cuff.....

I had something similar, and had to have it scoped.

good luck man.

does it hurt when you pop it or just all the time? I can make nasty pops with both of mine on command and I don't have any pain or problems

It is rather sore right now, but I don't think I am feeling more pain when it pops.

I would hate to have to go through surgery. A few years back my mom had to get ACL surgery after getting leg kicked and now everytime something is wrong with me I freak out and think its something serious.
Hopefully it's just sore.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder. You might have pulled it or something. Hope you get better!

Good luck!

It could be rotator-cuff-ish...I was always getting pain in those same positions and many others, to the point where I could hardly move my arm at the shoulder joint. It would pop as well.
I actually finally got an mri and I have a torn bursa, on the top of the cuff. Also a nasty spur in there. I am supposed to have surgery on it but they've capped our sick time at work and may not have enough to take off.
I can basically live with it, but if I get caught in a crazy kimura or americana it will flare up bad, and I'll have to go get a corti-steroidal(I think that's what the doc calls it) shot.
All that being said, that is a very delicate area, and if you have the insurance I would recommend getting checked out properly. Better to do that than risk further worse injury.

See an ortho surgeon. i had the same concerns after dislocating my shoulder in my last fight and then again and more traumatically while sparring. I ended up with a 280 degree tear of my labrum. The real point I want to stress is, I was in minimal pain except at extreme ranges of motion (think oma plata) because i kept training and did not get it looked at for over 4 months it got quite bad. my surgeons near exact words were " You destroyed it (the shoulder)".

Get it looked at, I will be fine in around three more months, you can heal. I am twelve days out of surgury and am doing fine.

your situation could be completely different but for peace of minds sake, i would get it checked out..

my 2 cents.
