i missed that episode... but i think you may have to consider who said it. but even then, chances are it isn't true no matter who it was...

I grew up camping and river rafting in Oregon. I don't know if that stat is 100% accurate but I'll tell you this, they are a hell of a lot faster than they look. Seen them running up hill, swiming in the river. They are pretty incredible.

yeah I didn't want to put to much thought into it, but it just kinda got me thinking should I climb a tree or try to run, lol

i think my cub scout manual said you should just play dead and/or assume the fetal position...

I don't think your supposed to do either, but the correct action takes giant balls of steel.
Bear saftey 101.
If it's one male bear your supposed to make yourself look as big as possible by standing up tall, extending your arms and using whatever you might have in your hands to look big and intimidating then back away slowly without turning around.
If it's a mother with her cubs your in deep sh!t.
They say to keep your backpack on so when you get mauled it will help protect your spine.

Most bear attacks happen because the bear was trying to get food or because the bear was surprised by you. So when hiking your supposed to sing or talk loud or just make noise so the bears will be aware of you and avoid you. When in the woods store your food according to whatever rules the park tells you to. Generally airtight containers away from your campsite. Never in your tent!!

I'm almost never in an area where there are bears but it's still good to know. I don't want to have try out my RNC on a grizzly.

hahahaha don' bears run at like 40 MPH???

Anyways fuck falling back...just fight the bear, hit em with a good 1-2 then get a bodylock in and from there take his abck then RNC and you've jsut tapped out a bear.......and if you take this seriously then i'd advise you to stay AWAY form woods or hiking or any other outdoor thing...
