Jiu Jitsu Gi Care

Make sure to always wash your Jiu Jitsu Gi in cold water only. Washing your Jiu Jitsu Gi in warm or hot water will only help set stains from blood, sweat and dyed materials into your Gi; so to prevent this from happening, washing your BJJ Gi in cold water is a must. To increase the lifespan of your Jiu Jitsu Gi you may hang dry them. But keep in mind, hang drying your BJJ Gi’s may make the material feel a little rough and will take much longer, about a day or so to completely dry.

Although our Jiu Jitsu Gi’s are labeled pre-shrunk, they are still made of 100% cotton so minimal shrinkage may occur. To shrink your Jiu Jitsu Gi, as always wash it in cold water first and then dry it on a low heat cycle until completely dry. This will achieve almost maximum shrinkage of the material.
Make sure to never use bleach! Bleach will greatly shorten the life span of your Jiu Jitsu Gi because the bleach eats away the cotton fibers. If you come across any stain issues, an organic oxidizer like Oxyclean or a similar detergent should do the trick.
