Judo video help
Hey guys,
I saw a video of Judo throws and technigues on here a while ago and now I can't find it. There was a black, bold guy in the video, former Olympian if I remember correctly (I hope it wasn't Cormier lol). He was demonstrating some throws using slippers on the ground. Any help locating that video would be appreciated. Or a name of that guy would be cool too.
Thanks!
Daniel McCormick dan@takedownexpert.com is the guy I thought at first.. but hes not black
he is however an olympian.
Question for the BJJ guys. I went to the takedownexpert.com site and noticed it stated -
Takedowns: Remember 90% of fights end up on the ground but 100% of fights start on the feet! The guy who gets top position wins 75% of BJJ matches. Daniel’s Takedown instruction is as good as any in the world!
Think that is accurate? 75% are won by the guy in the top position? Seems like a very random number, just wondering from people who have been to more competitions than I.
ya, I have no idea where he got that stat from.. or how it's reasonably feasible to even guess
search rhadi ferguson... he fits the description, i just dont now what video you're talking about though.
Was it David Williams? He doesn't wear a blue gi, but he does use slippers to demonstrate footwork.
According to these stats, it looks like over 75% of matches are won by the person who scores first, so maybe there is something to his claim.

Warlus - That link has all kinds of stats. 1 chart which shows that people who pull guard score the 1st points 72%. People who pull guard win the match 57% of the time.
At the one Naga event I went to my perception was that a ton of people were pulling guard and winning. I've only been to one event but that 75% seemed crazy to me. Unless pulling guard = a takedown?

Daniel something... I think i got some email somewhere..
