Mind Maps for Jiu Jitsu...
This is an Awesome video. I've been using 'Mind Maps' like this to break down each position, Rubber Guard, Side Mount, Butterfly Guard etc...
When I first did this for each position I realized that I had no tekks planned for a couple positions which means I had no game planned and was just winging it anytime I was in those positions.
Some positions you might not regarlarly be in but if you use mind maps to plan out everything and drill it then you will be able to recall what you need to do from that position even though you might not have been there in a while.
Another thing... you could have an A Game for each position which is the tekks that you are already good at and a B Game which are new tekks that you are working on.
Then when you train you can choose each day whether you are going to work your A Game in order to get ready for competition or your B Game in order to expand your overall game.

What a coincidence. On Thursday night I sat down and started mind mapping the guard and the way I flow through things. Or, at least the way I try to flow through things. I doesn't take long to see how many options are available one or two moves in.
Mine is just getting started...
