Never ending Staph!
I've been getting staph for about the last two years every two to three months. Twelve time in total so far.... The doctors have said i just catch it more often than most poeple. I shower right after workouts and after rolling I scrub down with head and shoulders, hebiclens, then dial antibacterial body wash. Then I lube down with good lotion. I take multi-vitamins and am in good health. My skin just hates me. I've even tried taking tetracycline. That just made me break out with more whiteheads that like to get infected. Has anyone else had these problems and if so is there hope out there?
this is the best soap out there sir, also you should start taking probiotics that have atleast 10 different strains in it. Take garlic pills too and you should see results in a week, Also clean your gym bag.
Try Elderberry Root!! It works!!
Studies have shown that Staph actually hides out in your nose. I kid you not- Lab swabs taken from the nares show SA strains there long after you get over a Staph infection. If the doctor gave you any kind of antibacterial topical ointment to put on you staph, take a little bit and rub it into your nose like you're putting Vicks Vaporub up there. That may help
are people cleaning mats at your gym, after every practice? is one of your partners not clean? do you wear a rash guard?
...oops, just rehashed deathdawg.... so what deathdawg said : )
well, thats a bummer. ive had staph a few times, not fun : (
with all the antibiotics and the antibacterial scrubs and soaps you are using, you are killing all the normal flora (bacteria) that would normally be on your body. There is then no competition for the staph bacteria which is a somewhat common bateria. Ask your doctor if all your antibacterial soaps might not be facilitating these recurring infections.
orthehill is right. Too much anti-bacterial products can do more harm than good. Ive read that anti-bacterial soaps and hand sanitizer actually helps staph become more immune and kills the good bacteria that our skin needs to help fight infection. Regular soap and water is all I use now and havent had a problem in a while.
I'm a nurse and deal with SA and MRSA a lot. Some antibiotics will mix with dairy or other foods and not absorb properly, so depending on what you're taking you may change your diet for a while by separating the meds by at least 2 hours from dairy or whatever food. The probiotics, long tights, rash guard that some other mentioned should help too, I don't know about the other supplements. Clean your nose out too, like the others said, even if you just use saline rinse it will help. Use regular soap and water to wash your body, because the antibacterial stuff can strip your body of protective organisms and protective oils. Wash your gear regularly too, then let it air dry in a spot with lots of air flow.
wow Noise had no idea

Try wearing tights and a long sleeved rash guard under your shorts when you train. Volunteer to help mop the mats at your gym so you know it's getting done right. maybe the drugs you're taking aren't killing the bacteria. Talk to your doc about a different antibiotic, like vancomycin. put tea tree oul in your body wash. A few pointers from someone who's dealt with this horrible shit before.
