Just ordered an Emerson Super Karambit. I wanted the shorter Combat Karambit model, but the super was the only one on ebay at the time. Hah, I was just excited about getting my new knife and had to post. Anyone else into knife collecting for any reason? They're one of my favorite things.

I have a good friend who caries an Emerson Super Karambit. You'll love it.

My dad and I both collect kinves, andI've toyed with making a few custom folders (I still suck, but man it's fun).

I've got a bunch of fancy hand-mades with stuff like hand-polished stone handles and Damasucs steel blades, but those stay put up.

My current carry knives include the Tarani 5.11 Tactical Karambit, Tarani 5.11 Tactical Tanto, Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops Urban Karambit, and Smith &Wesson Extreme Ops Tanto. I'll usually have two of something on this list on my person anytime I leave the house.

My favorite bladed weapon, however, is a SOG Fusion Tactical Tomahawk. Now THAT is a fun weapon.

Also have guns, but a lot more knives.

Nothing wrong with a little Spyderco knife. I carried a Spyderco Police model for years and still have a couple. My current carry knife is a Viele Wasp from CRKT.

The only knife I ever carry on me is a swiss army camper. I never got big into knives. I do carry concealed though. If you guys like knives so much maybe you should check out a guy on youtube named Nutnfancy. I have subscribed to his channel and he does tons of gear, knife and firearm reviews. He also videos lots of adventures and Run n' guns as well!!

I do know he is a big fan of spyderco and probably likes the other above mentioned knives as well.

I carry a vintage Benchmade AFCK for when I need a tactical folder. Normally I carry fixed blades though...KABAR skinner and a Cold Steel Braveheart in pikal grip.

I actually need some help choosing a knife right now. I'm looking for something with a fixed blade under 6" so less laws will apply to it, but the big thing is that I want to be able to throw it easily. I'm not really looking for a "throwing knife" so much as a "throwable knife" that still has a guard.

Here are two that seem to be around what I'm looking for, but I haven't had a chance to get to a good store and actually hold either of them.

It'll probably be a little while before I buy anything, seeing as how I still spend most of my time on a college campus, but if anybody has any suggestions or pro tips for buying knives let me know what you think.

I carry a kershaw ks-1550, has the torsion bar in it for assisted opening. I love that thing, I've had it for years and use it all the time. I've been wanting a karambit forever though.

Awesome gift LSBJJ.

DRay, my personal favorite is the double edged boot knife. I haven't held one, but it looks sick.

I have the Cold Steel SafeKeeper push knife. It is used for nothing but self defense. I have the larger version but would recommend the smaller version for easier carry. The S & W Spec Ops is a good all purpose every day carry knife.

Nope, I got a bowie. But I'm southern, you're pretty much issued one at birth down here. Wink Also got an Italian Switch blade old school style, a couple of balisongs,an SOG Twitch XL (my favorite), 2 Dovo Solingen 5/8" straight razors for my shaving needs, and I don't have time to mention all of my kitchen cutlery.

i have an old smith and wesson tactical folder i carry sometimes. its a very sturdy knife but its stiff and difficult to get open. can i get some tips on how to loosen it up a bit. it is almost exactly like this one, minus the serrated edge.

i picked it up at biglots for 8 dollars. Big smile

That's one of my favorite knives (with serrations). I 've got it in my pocket right now. If it's getting touggh to open, you might need a squirt of WD40 around the pin.
