Pedro Sauer's Gi
Anyone know why Pedro Sauer does his gi up the wrong way? He has it right over left instead of left over right. I heard that the gi is done up left over right traditionally in Japan and only when a man dies is his gi/clothing switched to right over left. Is he a lefty and that's why he does it? Just noticed the photos on his facebook page show him with it on opposite to everyone else in the photos. Odd.
I thought of that, there are multiple photos of him with it on the wrong way round, and with people in the picture with it on the right way round.

Well, considering hes not japanese, i dont think he really cares. I know that when I put my Gi on, it usually isn't the same way consistently, and if it is then its almost completely by accident.
Really far fetched conjecture: maybe he does it to show respect for Helio Gracie in some way? He was really close to Helio and took his passing as hard as the blood members of the family. I have no basis for though, but for some reason it made me think of the tattoo that he has on his shoulder (Helio Gracie's hands tying his belt, wrinkly hands and all, it's awesome).
That's more plausible than not caring. As I think about it, my instructor is a Pedro Sauer bb and he explains exactly why you cross lapels properly to every new student.

He's always done that from what I could tell, even old old pictures of him have it reversed. But, all of his students etc have it the other way. No idea, someone could ask him? He's on Facebook and does answer message

I could be just to mess with people I would it would slightly change the way you grip.

The picture is probably just reversed. The writing on his logos is probably backwards too, but you can't see clearly enough. Same reason models used to have magically moving beauty marks.
