Pullup variation specific to grappling
I know about the usual pullup variations like changing the grip, width between hands, and tempo; but I need something that would be unique to ground fighting.
I attached two pieces of thick rope to my chin up bar. Hanging straight down no knots.Great for grip strength.
I also use two Soft balls. Drilled a hole in the middle, put a metal hook through it and attached it to my bar. I grip them for pulls ups...it's a killer.
Take a wide grip, take your feet off the floor, and cross em, lean back puttin your body almost parallel to the floor, then perform a pullup, it is kinda like a reverse bench press, or push up. It will aid in your overall pulling strength, and as a judoka, that's important!
Drape a towel over the bar, roll it abit, thicker the better, great for grip strength
How about this?
The Ab straps pull-up is great for NO-GI squeezing strength. I recently started toying with this variation and love it. Slide your forearm (thumb down) through the sleeve. The sleeve should cover your forearm from the wrist to the bend of your elbow. Gable grip with the other hand and perform a pull-up by bringing your forearm to your abdomen. Knock out as many reps as you can and then switch arms.
The muscle-up is a great way to develop explosive strength and is extremely taxing on your stabalizers and core.

FREESTYLE AMERICAN SHOOT TEAM Thanks to eagles for the sig!

wrap a Gi over the bar, grab the sleeves or collar, Bring your knees to your chest then pull up. Or if your a No-gi only kinda person use ab straps for a variation.
OR ! you can look at the Drills and Workouts sections for all kinds of ideas.
