As a fan of women's MMA, a martial artist, and a woman I find that Ronda Rousey is starting to get a bit old.  At first I was pretty impressed and felt that she was going to take women's MMA to a whole new level, little did I know it was in the other direction I was thinking.

She is not a role model for young female athletes.  I'm really sorry to see that she is now considered the face of women's MMA.  She could have been such a strong and positive character in the sport; now I wish she would just go away.

I felt that she deserved a title shot based on her strong talent and judo background, not because her and Miesha were the prettiest girls in Strikeforce.

Yes, Cyborg screwed up with the steroids thing, but this whole Ronda/ Cyborg Twitter fued is stupid.  Ronda started it by dogging on Cyborg on the Tapout Radio so Cyborg posted the doctored photo.  To come out and say that Cyborg is a d*** who has a d*** is just disgusting.

I guess the fans want a circus, well it seems like they are getting their wish and the ring master is Ronda.

Uhh, sure.  Cause this is by far the WORST thing any fighter has ever said about an opponent, ever.  That is definitely disgusting and certainly means no one should consider Roussey a role model.  Way worse than juicing.  Way worse

Clearly you either don't live in America, or you are physically in the States, but off on some dream world lol. Americans aren't interested unless its violent and beautiful at the same time, and if you can throw some serious wit and shit-talking into the mix, then bonus points. Ronda is an excellent example of women's MMA. She stands up for herself, is confident, and she has a good amount of wit and humor to sell a fight. If the MMA world didn't put on a good dog and pony show, fights wouldn't sell nearly as good. Why do you think Professional Wrestling is still huge even after the 'secret' is out that it's fake? Because it's a pagent. And MMA needs a good pagent every now and again. Im not saying take it to the level of the WWE or TNA, but throw a little pepper in the mix every so often to get some attention. What Ronda is doing for the sport, I think, is a good thing.

I guess maybe you are right Americans want to watch that "dog and pony" show, they want to see a sport, and enjoy all of likes of TNA & WWE.  Ronda fits right in with that.  Dog and Pony shows are like fads, eventually they go away, then what are you left with?  Just a good show during the duration it lasted.  Not something that will build the sport of women's MMA in a POSITIVE direction.

As for me, I want to watch REAL martial arts (and I'm sure there are plenty of other people out there that feel the same way).  I want to watch well rounded martial artists, who don't sh** talk on each other and go in there to finish fights, not pull out a decision.

Ronda is a good athlete, but a bad martial artist.

Also I never said that Cyborg was a good role model for juicing.  Yes Cyborg was jacked and it appeared quite evident that she was on someting, but you can't tell me that she is the only one using ped's?  You don't have to be completely ripped to be on ped's.  There are different degrees and durations of use.  Sooner or later others will get caught.

Personally I agree that peds are cheating, and would never use or instruct any students to use.  This is the real world though and peds in sports are as common as protein shakes.  People seem to forgive and forget all of the baseball players, football, players, basketball players, track & field athletes, other MMA athletes, etc. usage.  How come Cyborg is the only one who doesn't get a second chance?

Just saying.  Good points made by all though.  It would be interesting to hear another woman's perspective on Ronda.  I'm not sure that all women are going to feel the same as you guys.

I kind of feel sorry for her.... Respect is HUGE and goes a long way, its bad to say but for the most part the public likes a woman fighter that has class and is humble.  I'm no exception to this rule, she is a pro fighter she needs to act like one.  Wonder how many times her promoter has talked to her about interviews and what’s ok to say.  Trash talking is ok for WWE its all part of the show, I’d rather not see it in pro-fighting, for a woman it just seems catty and unprofessional

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow"
