shaving body hair

I've heard lots of times that shaving your body hair off will make you more slippier when grappling. I've also heard that Thai fighters enter the ring with a few days of stubble because it will help the gloves slip off their faces easier. I know that it hurts like hell whenever I'm grappling in shorts and the other guy grabs my legs... almost rips all my leg hair out. And when I'm kicking the heavy bag it seems like it would hurt less if I had smooth legs.
How effective is shaving any body hair off?

It's just gross.

Guys sometimes justify it by saying that the hair gets pulled....but really, men that shave their legs..it's just gross.

I would just train more, and not worry about gimmicks to make you better. Though, I do trim the hedges to make the tree look bigger

Yea, I have decided to keep the body hair that God has given me. The only hair I do shave is the hair on my face. Now, I would have to see that if I was hairy like Grizzly Adams, then I might would consider waxing my back or some shit, but nah, I'm gonna keep my hair.

I have thought long and hard bout guys that shave their hair though. Why do they do it? I have seen swimmers go to the extreme by shaving off every last bit of hair on their body (eye brows included), and even grow their finger nails out to get a little better stroke. I have also seen other athletes state that by having no hair, it will be easier for them to heal if they were to get an abrasion or laceration on their skin. Sure that makes sense. What about those other guys...? What I have wondered about though are the guys that shave their whole body, but then leave a 3 day beard on their face...WTF? I don't know, if I was gonna spend that much time shaving my body, I would have to spend an extra 5 minutes to shave my face.
:)

Just the facts maam.

also if your a hobbit, shaving might be justifiable. i randomly shave my arms. ... reason being is that i sleep on my arms and the arm hair would 'tickle' my nose.....yeah.. but shaving the pits i can see; the chest and back semi understandable.....legs?....ehh. leave the leg hair.

I agree, the hedges cannot. I repeat, cannot pass the tree. It just not right.

lol I thought that would be the response. Swimmers shaving eyebrows... that's f****d. Don't worry, I wasn't considering shaving my own legs, just wondering about other ppl doing it

No increase in grappling ability is worth the exponential increase in gayness. There is no excuse. Manscaping is for body builders and dudes that live on Queen Ann.

And a quick point. When Andrea Arlovski started going all Boy George he the the pink colored duck sauce kicked out of him.

Don't do it...

I told you... NO!!!

Anyone noticed how Arlovski hasn't been half as good since shaving his body hair off? The guy is like Samson, his strength is in his 'wildman like' pubes!

Don't know about the impact of 'extreme shaving' on fighting, but I know the wife likes it! Wouldn't do legs though, it's not right, they might look too good, could be confusing, nothing south of the tackle, that's my rule...!

I did it, you'll feel and move so much better w/o the body hair. Girlfriend likes it too :D. But for real I do suggest it.

Ok so maybe not an expert.
