Shoulder pain and stiffness.

Yeah, so I was doing some Omo and Butterfly guard drills Monday, and when I woke up Tuesday my shoulders were very sore and stiff, and hurt very badly when I lifted my arms shoulder level or higher (I felt like John McCain), I figured I had just pulled something since none of the omos were very hard or tight and the training, while intense, wasn't unusual.

I endured through the day, but skipped Jiu Jitsu to let it recover. Then Today, Wednesday rolls around and the pain is still here with no relief. It still hurts very badly when I raise my arms, but I'm willing to endure it for Jiu Jitsu.

But should I go? I don't think its anything serious, but I want some advice on if I should go train or not today or just let it recover completely.

A white belt with a lot of questions.

Recover first! Else you'll just continue to injure yourself indirectly and end up being out of training more then if you had recovered fully in the first place.

Not taking time off will make nothing into a major something.. trust me.. two years ago, I gave myself shoulder surgery (a new tendon and two titanium screws) for a Christmas present.
Wait till your pain free.. Aleve once in the morning.. once at night.. alternate ice and damp/moist heat every other hour for 15-20 minutes and just wait it out.. there'll be plenty of days to roll when your healthy and pain free.
