Stinky gloves
Hey everybody I've noticed lately that my boxing gloves have started to get stinky. Ive had em for years and have done well with some anti bacterial fabreeze and just good ol fashioned airing em out. Any suggestions on gettn the stink out? Maybe it's just a good excuse to buy some new gloves! Lol
Yeah, it's probably time to get some new gloves. Until then you could try spraying the inside (not the outside because it'll dry up the leather) with some bleach (1 part bleach to 9 parts water) and air drying them. I picked up a really cheap boot dryer on amazon that works awesome with my gloves.
The other thing you can try is to throw them in the freezer for 24 hours. I find that does the trick if my shorts or rash guards begin getting a residue stench even after washing.
Chaz is right, I would just buy new gloves when they are that old, but if you are adamant about keeping them here is what you can do.
You'll need two pairs of thick socks, or if you don't have thick socks, take four pairs of socks and turn them into two big lumps of sock.
1. Dump a good amount of "Gold Bond" powder in each one of your gloves.
2. Take your lumped up socks and stick one pair in each glove, right at or a little bit further in than the seam on the underbelly of the glove.
3. Holding one glove at a time, on both ends firmly, shake it for a bit. Let sit over night.
4. Take socks out, go outside and bang as much of the gold bond out that you can. If you have a canned air duster you can stick that down in the glove just for added help.
They should be good to go.

a couple years??? buy some new ones...
