Straight Ankle lock/achilles for bjj
Wed, 10/19/2011 - 01:09
Hey lockflow dudes,
Does anyone know any good set ups/tips/ for getting the ankle lock with the gi on and using bjj rules (no reaping the knee)? If I set back with one knee in the middle and attack the "bottom" leg, they just grab my lapel and I am unable to finish. Thoughts?

Don't set back. Fall to your side. Either side. Each side has advantages and disadvantages. That would help a bit. Also instead of keeping tyhe knee in the middle, try pushing your foot into the thigh of their free leg to spread them out. Thjis will keep them from coming up. Also, when you set up the move, make sure you're putting your free hand (not attacking the leg) on their chest to keep them down and flat and from coming up with you as you sit back or to the side.
