for those who care...
most of you guys know i train a pro MMA fighter (Bryc Palmer). he had his first defeat back in january by majority dec.
well just this past wednesday he fought one of the toughest guys up here in alaska. this guy:

and we won in the second round via guillotine!
there was a crazy moment at the end of the first round though... as the horn went off to end the first round, Bryc dropped his hands and his opponent landed 4-5 cleand shots on Bryc. one of the strikes ended up fracturing his nose! his jiu jitsu instructor and i went crazy, but then we were reminded that the opponent is deaf! lol, it was the guys first time in 6 fights going past the first round.
but yeah, just i wanted to to share the news with you guys
Congrats to your fighter!! And that stinks about the injury, im surprised the ref didnt step in sooner.
awesome job!
and geez another example of how important a good ref is
4-5 clean shots is way too many. On a good note congrats to you and your fighter
way to go!

Wow, good work. Congratulate your fighter for all of us. As far as the combo after the round goes, the ref needs to be on top of that. No reason why a deaf athlete can't compete, just need to make a little extra effort officiating. Glad it didn't cost your guy the fight though, that would have been unfortunate.
good quality pics. and congratulations on the win.
Matt Hamil is a deaf UFC fighter and he had something somewhat similar/unfair happen to him when Jon "bones" jones threw a 12-6 straight up and down elbow down on matt making a gash in his face.
jon was totally winning the fight bu then he got DQ'ed after the elbow happened.
P.S. It is very rare for a person to be 100% deaf. I worked with multiple deaf people in my past jobs.
