Well, after a week of having some knee problems i went and got it checked out tonight. Looks like i have a torn meniscus. I have to see a orthopedist this week (there goes all of my money) to see if i will need surgery. I am hoping that's not the case. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Been dealing with one for a while.. hadn't got around to getting it fixed.. a lot of time with a medial miniscus tear/failure, you'll know immediately, the knee will lock up and you won't be able to move it at all.. that's worse case scenario though. GOOD LUCK in getting it looked at and with the diagnosis bro! Hopefully it'll all turn out okay.

Thanks guys! Thankfully it isn't locked. I still have some mobility but it's swollen and painful at times. I am hoping that i do not need to get it fixed. The two doctors that checked me out thought that i would probably not need surgery. Hoping they are right.

I was off the mat for 3 months, but then again I was a nazi with RICE and doing excercises every day. Plus you can also lift upper body and stuff. You will be walking with out a cain the day after the surgery if you need it.

Well, I am finaly getting surgery tomorrow. It has been a nightmare since i did not have insurance to finaly get it fixed. I have to be there at 5:30am. Not fun. Hopefully I should be back on the mats soon. I have been gone way to long.

I also had a medial miniscus tear. No surgery, just two and a half months of therapy and rest. I was back to the same run times in about 3 months. It still asts up if i run over 5 miles though. And cold weather aggravates it as well. Good luck to both of you.

I had that happened to me while training, took 3 months for the doc to find out what was wrong. I had surgery back in Nov and was back on the mat by Jan. I had 50 % removed because it was a bad tear. I was up and walking without a cane or crutch within 4 days. Your leg is going to be very week, I had no rehab, just the doc telling me to do simple leg extensions, no weights. I did that for a month and moved to using a leg extension machine with 20lbs, which felt heavy, but now I have no issues and my knee is doing great, hasn't locked up on me at all.

Well, the surgery was a succes and I litterly walked out of the hospital even though it was a pretty decent size tear. I am a little sore and somewhat stiff but that is to be expected. I have a follow up in a week but it looks like I may not even need rehab. Perks to having strong ass legs. I am so glad that I got it done though.
