Update!! Minotauro/Anderson Silva Seattle Seminar
Hey guys. I got a myspace message from some guy with info on this. Here's the link;
http://www.minotauroseminar.com/
In a yet to be determined location in the Seattle area. July 13-17th.
I emailed the address and got a response stating that pre-registration forms will be out soon. There will likely be 2 or 4 day packages. Costs around $100-$125 (don't know if that's for 2 or 4 days)
read the organizer's response below
Hey, Clutch, whats up? If you hear anything more on this, please let me know. Mario Sperry was just up from 4/30 - 5/3 at Marcelo Alonso's, so who knows? A Minotauro/A. Silva seminar would rock and I would definitely try to go. BTW, I tore my achilles tendon in March, just now getting back to light training...
If this is legit I might be coming back to WA for a visit.

"Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira and Anderson "Spider" Silva will be coming for their first time to Seattle!!! They will have 4 days of classes and exhibitions. Fighters and fans can come to train and learn their techniques or just to watch. July 13th thru July 17th 2007 in Seattle. www.minotauroseminar.com email and register exact location tba very soon. "
My only question is, is this legit? I went to the site and tried to register and an error happened. In most seminars I've attended you can usually call someone and the person hosting it is listed, etc.
It seems very cheap for these two gentleman, in other words, to good to be true...if it is legit and you're in WA and don't go to it...wow! is all I can say.
Hey, what's going on Vic? Sorry to hear about your achilles. Did that happen down in Burien? Hopefully it happened "on the job"
Uh......unfortunately no, not even at agency training. No L&I for me....I was doing some Muay Thai training, working knees in the clinch, planted my right foot back to throw a second mondo power knee, and "POP" there it went. It's getting much better now, starting to train again, light stand up. Hopefully start back to jiu-jitsu in a couple of weeks.
Anyhow, Mario Sperry was just up at Marcelo Alonso's, and did not say anything about it. Marcelo knows Minotauro, and doesn't seem to know anything about this seminar. Marcelo is trying to bring up Rodrigo Medeiros for a seminar in July, so it is very suspect to me.
Just doesn't seem right. I guess this guy's name is Kris (?), no one seems to know who he is, doesn't have a place to hold it (South Seattle?). He posted something for it on Sherdog, and people replied that it doesn't look legit, and the guy got defensive, asked why it doesn't...didn't answer any questions, but swears its legit.
I e-mailed Sperry, hopefully he (or someone) will reply. Rumor is the BTT is moving to Las Vegas....
Thanks for the head's up Vic, I haven't seen Marcelo in a few years, my bro and I used to train under him and teach Muay Thai to some of his guys on saturdays in Tacoma years ago.
it is not fake. check out the promo pic 5/24/07 in the albums and others they took on the myspace/minotauroandspider page for this seminar in July.
I havent announced the location because I am in negotiations with a few locations...
all of which are available during that time slot. Just have to see which one pans out right now. Let's hope someone offers something good so we can keep the cost down!!!!
but to allyou non-believers:
you can call Reese Andy at 206-228-6380 from the Tigersharks to verify that he has offered West Coast Fitness for that time slot
it is rather small and we have not reached any decent agreement yet so it is not anywhere close to set in stone that it will be there.
if you have any more questions please email them to and please call and verify if you need to then spread the word about this! this is a such a great opportunity to get some great training!
That sounds amazing. I wish I lived around there being from the midwest and all. That is crazy cheap too. I just got an e-mail about a 5 day camp with Team Quest for 1000 bucks, dem bitches is crazy.
Tomorrow I should have the contract in hand locking down the location!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's out of the bag now...
Talking to the guy right now, He trains at AMC and here is a you tube video of Anderson and Mino talking about the seminar....

This blows, I just found out yesterday I'm going to some required school in Virginia on July 16th and will be gone :( Whoever goes, make sure you take some pics/video/etc. and maybe even sell the Video of the seminar, I'd definitely buy it. I'm jealous of all y'all that are going.
It's official - the classes will be at Fife Wrestling.........an absolutely perfect place. Nice wall to wall matts and very large room!
as a newbie who has never taken a official class, would this be something I could get my money's worth out of?
Any advice would be great.
Yes,I think so. You willbe exposed to some of the top athletes in Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. That is a great foundation to build on! They have worked with many new people - they can handle whatever comes their way and will make sure everyone gets the most of it!
Come on and sign up...if you have a friend it might help you retain more if you both come and learn together.
This should get rid of any doubt that anyone might still have...
Well, straight from the mouths of the men themselves, thats great news!
Just a strange way to go about putting on a seminar, but I guess they are coming, and thats what matters.
Anyone else seen that Minotauro may have left BTT and gone with Black House? I think it was in Tatame, or MMAWeekly...
I'm having issues signing up for this one, can anyone get through the registration?
yeah, I would love to do this, but I am a bit cautious
One of the guys at our gym, and a lockflow member signed up for it, seems legit guys!

I heard about it at the gym on friday, someone said they were friends with nog and asked if I would go to a seminar if he came. I said I havent worked for two months so no I would not go to any seminar.
Anonymous Tom Vu's rules to live by. "Don't listen to your friends. They're losers!" "Do you think these girls like me? No they like my money!"
