What is the "Shaolin"
Okay I'm reading the contents of Bill Coopers Escape DVD and he has a few for the Shaolin. What is this?? Is it a position or a submission? I search online and the results are all kung fu related. And if you have a link to some photos or an actual video that would super sweet
Thanks for your time
Morgan
Morgan, I believe the Shaolin is a version of a D'arce named after vitor "shaolin" ribeiro. One of my former students used to hit it all the time (Otto Olson 2nd place ADCC 2003) Its very confusing but in the same family as the anaconda, brabo and darce.
After reading some reviews it seems that Cooper refers to the D'arce as the shoalin.
I don't know I've always thought D'arce was a cool name. Shaolin is just a bit cliche IMHO.
I like shaolin better than darce. so +1 on that!
Shaolin teaches the 'Shaolin Sweep' from Half Guard
