When asked by a match-maker or promoter to fight in an event, what questions should be asked?
What is my opponent's name?
What is my opponent's record (not too reliable, though)
Where/with whom does my opponent train?
If possible, how tall is my opponent?
(I kind of turn stocker on my opponents...)

Will you pay for the medical bills when I finish this fight with a gorilla press slam?

Also, ask around about the promotion. Find out how they conduct business and what type of reputation they have. Find fighters who have fought on their show and get their opinion. If the general consensus is "shady" then find someone else to fight for. If the promotion has a website with a forum you can get on there and read reviews of the show, usually there will be someone on there who is a hater b/c they lost their fight so go with the majority LOL!

FREESTYLE AMERICAN SHOOT TEAM Thanks to eagles for the sig!
"I have always been interested in one on one activites. Ones where the outcome depends on the one person with the best preparation and skill. Plus Im one of those adrenaline junkies. I did time in Texas and never had a problem with fifghting in there. Since i have changed my life, but still like to fight, i figured why not do it legally. Kind of disappointed with the level of competition though. I honestly thouht it would be a lot tougher. But hey, only had one fight. As a heavyweight a lot of contenders are fat and slow. But my wife doesnt want me to lose weight soooo. Basically I'm here to fight as much as possible. Im not turning down ANY fights."
I have some questions for you;
Is the competitoin really that easy when you only got one fight on your record?
Are these promoters asking you to do a pro show?
Why will your wife not let a heavyweight (you) loose weight?

IS THERE A CONTRACT
How many cornermen can you bring
If they're paying to bring you in, get the flight and hotel worked out long before you leave. (for you and your corner)
Do they supply the gloves, tape, gauze, etc
What weight does your opponent walk around at? (they will lie)
What do they need as far as bloodwork(HIV, Hep, etc) and medicals, do they need it in advance, or bring it to the fight.
Will they have a replacement if your opponent can't fight
What am I forgetting?
