WTF w/ all the spambotting?

I saw a documentary last night which said that the machines will take over starting in the year 2018. There was this guy, John Conner maybe, he is only a young man right now but he's trying to teach people that this will happen and no one will listen.

I think I found the spybot...

^^^ Pretty sure he died at the end of that documentary. He must've gone back in time after he sent his father back in time to impregnate his mother, and stopped his evil neo nazi ways by indoctrinating himself with anti robotic propaganda in order to save the space time continuum along with a stagnant film franchise.

Um, If she is the spybot, consider my account wide open! She can post whatever she wants all over me lol.

I don't know about you, but I appreciate the spam. How else will I know about cheap knockoff clothing, jewelry, and the possiblility of increasing the size of my genetalia (not that it is necessary or possible to get any larger than it already is).

I agree with ptbeast that this shit is getting out of control. Tired of logging on and spending 20 minutes going through spam just to find a current thread.

Sorry guys, I think I deleted most of them. I will try adding a few more things to stop them today.

No it's not. Can be done.

unless you have a couple thousand questions.... it wouldn't help too much.

Using questions instead of obfuscating words from OCR readers would not work.

All the script kids would do is take the captcha program (either buy it if it's commercial, or download if it's open source) and then install it in their own servers. Then send X number of bots to brute force the answers using dictionary attacks. Or easier yet, make a script to google possible answers and try those until the right answer is found. Then save the Q&A pair.

That's how I'd do it in a nut shell.

Lately I've been impressed with the level of skill being put into the bots (internet wide). They are getting pretty sophisticated in some of the automated posts sounding like it's on topic and legit.

This is pretty depressing. How about a moritorium on new accounts? Or a wiating period for new accounts to post? Either way the bots are ruining this.
