, but in this case it went wrong there was punches involved
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow"
sorry for the miss-spell Colin I'll see if I can fix it

in mma we all make sacrifice's its was his choice to fight up in weight, im a 55lber and fought at 195 before to fill a card. dose not take anything away from someone's win..
yep we all fight where we can and when we can
, heck we even get a doc, are own mat, water, music, and ring girls. The best part is we don't have to pay to fight, there is no waiting around for hr's for your class to be called, and your not worried someone will run into you in the middle of the match
NICE!!! O and for some you get everything paid for and sometime even get paid
can't beat that

Cap/dirtdog,
I do agree with you that at times in mma we fight larger opponents. however, after reviewing the tape, matt did indeed take a hard right hand to the back of the head (the area specifically pointed out at the rules meeting to be an illegal target,) though the following shots landed in a "legal" area, I doubt they would have been nearly as damaging had we not taken the initial illegal shot. Although I believe the punch was unintentional, its hard for me agree that the outcome of the fight would be the same, had all the rules been enforced. That being said, congrats on your win!

Bawajiwe, I wasn't there... I was just stating a fact that fighting up in weight is not that out of the ordinary. And for the punch to the back of the head, maybe you should have appealed it instead of writing about it on here, if it was that blatant. Anyway i think there has been enough talked about this fight..
ok.
Dirtdog, i dont disagree with you at all. and actually i am in the process of appealing it. you may notice i waited until it became an issue before i even posted a reply.
cap-
that was definatly a great punch. i watched the fight again in slow motion. when i paused the fight, i saw that when matt was in on his outside single, your right hand is buried into the back of his head. after an entire fight of agression and attacking, (even after your right hand) all of the sudden, matt stops moving. and of course you capitalize (which makes sense, i think we would all do the same thing). regardless of what you are saying, according to the video (and stills from the video that I can provide this evening if you would like), the first punch (at least) was illegal, thats really all there is to it. no hard feelings, a fights a fight and it is what it is, and like i said before, i dont think it was intentional, maybe your right hand really is so hard that it stops opponents dead in their tracks over a minute later.
dirtdog is right, there has probably been enough talk about this fight. congrats on your win, and best of luck in the future.

I was there. I didn't see any "Blatant" shot to the back of the head. If you are appealing it you better make everyones fight videos available for view to see if anyone else got hit in the back of the head. Maybe they want to appeal it...It happens, and 99% of the time its unintentional. Both of those guys fought hard. Congrats to both fighters...Let it go...
