Down the Middle Guard Pass

Easy to pull off, even if he has a grip on your sleeves or lapel, just be quick. As soon as the legs are under control GO!!!

  • Grip
  • I start with a double lapel grip with both hands and pin Doug to the mat.
  • Stand
  • I rock forward on my grip and jump to my feet. You can also step up one foot at a time.
  • Replace grip
  • I switch my left grip to Doug's pant leg about half way up his thigh.
  • Open Guard
  • I then drive my elbow into the inside of his thigh just above the knee. Painful to try and fight it, see his face?
  • Place the Knee
  • I slip my knee inside and pin his leg with it.
  • Move Grip
  • Slide my grip up to the inside of the knee. Keeping my elbow in tight.
  • Control Other Knee
  • I quickly switch my right hand grip to the knee.
  • Open the Door
  • With both hands, my elbows in, and my knees pinned to his thighs, I drive both of his knees towards the mat.
  • GO!!
  • I quickly shot my hips and knees forward between and over his thighs, pulling his knees back as I go through.
  • Release the Legs
  • I then let go of his pants as I push my hip forward.
  • Reposition
  • Once I hit the mat I loop my legs over his knees...
  • Finish
  • and finish in mount!

Actually these are mat that we already had. We just brought them out and made a mma grappling area with a padded wall. Closest thing to a cage wall we could make. Works good!

nice detail Sergio!

Thanks MMA w.

It's better in you control one of his sleeves first...

good explanation...

The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.
