Here is north/south escape that I use. In the video I'll show the move, then break it down, then show it one more time. Helping me out is LockFlows own Kevinlace.
-
Starting off in north/south
-
Push up
-
Shin to bicep
-
Close up
-
Push with your shin
-
Rotate
-
Left leg over the shoulder
-
Pull out your right leg
-
Triangle
For this particular escape it works best if both of your arms are inside (your opponents arms are over your)
Place your hand on your opponents armpits and push up to create space. Start bringing your right knee up.
As you bring your knee up, slide your right hand over to your opponents tricep and place your right shin into his bicep...
slide your hand that was on the tricep down to grab his wrist. your shin should be on the inside of his elbow. Here Kevin opens up so you can see the correct positions.
Now start to push away with your shin (still holding onto the wrist). This will also start to rotate you...
..Continue to rotate clockwise.
As you rotate place your left leg over your opponent's shoulder.
At the same time your right knee (and leg) should start to come out the other side.
Now you should be in a perfect position for a triangle. Note: if you can't get your right leg out, you've still gone from under the north/south to placing your opponent in your guard.
