Here is a quick hitting arm bar that I like to use.
-
Starting off in the guard
-
Weave in your other hand.
-
Hook the tricep
-
Start the armbar
-
Keep it tight
-
Armbar!
Starting off with your opponent in your guard. Cross grab your opponents collar, make sure you have your thumb in the collar and not your fingers.
Take the hand that's not in the collar and start to weave it under your opponent, towards the far side tricep.
Now hook your opponents tricep with your hand (thumb on the outside grip).
With your opponents tricep gripped, push the head away with the hand in the collar and pull the tricep in. At the same time rotate and bring your legs over the head...
..keep everything tight by lifting the hips and pushing down with your feet.
with practice this is one of the fastest armbars you can hit.

whoa, that is quick!
one of my favorites. easy follow up with the omoplata if i miss the elbow.
great armbar!
mr simpson i have always been confused on the feet crossing. many top guys do it, many dont. is it just preference?
bcwcmw, what's important is "when" you cross your feet. Never cross your feet in front of your opponent or if your opponent can grab them. I cross my feet to add weight. In this move (and most armbars) you push your feet down and away to add pressure. Crossing the feet makes them heavier.
Another little tip - when you have the feet crossed, push out hard with both knees.....in the last photo in the sequence the guys left knee would be pushing out hard and will be putting a lot of pressure on the opponent's neck.
Try it and see what you think!!
Great armbar! Thanks for posting.
Wicked Sneaky...
just wanted to add, that I watched this vid a while ago and didnt comment, but since seeing the video and using this move its the only armbar I use from guard anymore!
Never argue with an idiot, cause he'll bring you down to his level and beat you with experience
Awesome!
I would assume this same move can be done no-gi as well...?
Just the facts maam.
I dont see how you would be able to do this exact set up without the gi...in the begining of the set up you need a thumb in cross grip, I dont think you would be able to keep his posture broken with the cross hand on his trap. If ya can then more power to ya (and damn you have a strong grip!!)

my #1 armbar from guard! i generally avoid crossing my feet, when the feet are crossed it allows for space between your knees and the opponent can easily draw the arm back. I pinch my knees tight around the humerus and hook / drive my legs down around the neck & shoulder
