Breakdown for the Quick Roll Gi Choke

  • Cross grab the collar
  • Cross grab the collar.
  • Start your loop
  • Start to loop your arm over your opponents head. Lower your elbow and drive it close to your opponents body to create more space.
  • Loop the head
  • Loop over your opponents head.
  • Touch shoulders
  • Once you're over the head drive your shoulder into your opponents shoulder. This will help prevent his head from coming out.
  • Start your roll
  • Take your other arm and swim (drive) it behind your opponents arm. Moving up behind his neck while starting to turn...
  • Roll
  • Continue to roll to your side, using your opponents gi (collar) to drive him over with you.
  • Driving behind the head
  • As you're rolling continue to drive your arm up behind his neck...
  • Turn on your stomach
  • Continue to roll until you are flat on your stomach.
  • Bonus
  • Once your on your stomach, drive your arm behind his neck and using it to lift up his head.
    This increases the choke :)
