Behind the Head Toe Hold

The 'Behind the Head Toe Hold' is nice follow up to the 1/2 guard sweep that is blocked by your opponent posting out.

  • Step 1
  • Here I am in half guard, but I am posted on my right hand with the left underhook
  • Step 2
  • I push my weight into Cole, as I feel him push back, I drop to my right side and reach my right arm deep into Cole's left thigh
  • Step 3
  • Once the right underhook is deep, I roll on my back and turn to my left.
  • Step 4
  • I continue to turn to my left, I am trying to roll Cole over, put he posts out blocking my reversal.
  • Step 5
  • I put my left hand behind Cole's leg and push my head under.
  • Step 6
  • I pop my head to the other side of Cole's leg
  • Step 7
  • I reach my right arm back and grab Cole's left foot
  • Step 8
  • I move my head closer to Cole's foot, to finish the submission, I arch my head back and pull Cole's foot inward.

Definitely not the most comfortable submission.

Looks like the transition from 6 to 7 might be alittle awkward.

i understand they are trying to show moves, but this is hard especially when the opponent is in movement, i would rather overhook that thigh, and put his calf under my shoulderblade so my body weight has him,put my arm over foot that should be through ny armpit then lock my arm down shift my weight and get the tap.

What doessn't kill me only makes me stronger.

from step 1,2,3,4, you can get the eletric chair submission/sweep thats if you stretch them out with the lockbdown and in step4 bring your leg below the knee trap the leg between your head and shoulder(ear in the shin) now wraping your arm making the gable-grip with both hands pulling down with the arm and pushing up with the shoulder and kinda turn them belly down and get the sub, if they dont tap for whatever reason go for the sweep ,by continue extending the lockdown posting hand on the mat with arm extended and right arm still trapping the leg with your neck ,driving your body toward him stacking his leg to his shoulder and wrapping your left arm around the head and making a gable grip now release the lockdown and step your right leg out first then the left leg comes out and slide it under the armpit of the side you are on now release the leg thats being stacked and get side control.

the post i just made wasnt what i had oringinally wanted to post but i had to explain before i can post this varation,

Most often you cannot get the electric chair sweep because your opponent post both hands on the mat and he cannot at this point be swept now in eddie bravo new book mastering the rubber guard he has a new position he calls stoner control and its based of the reactions of the opponent.
so off step4,5,and6 eddie bravo goes for stoner control which is simply from step6 continue turning into him until you get to your knees wrapping tight his hips maintaining a side control ,also there is stoner control sweep variations
and the capabilty of capturing the back from stoner control, also the stoner control arm-triangle which is so simple to do, and stoner control calf- crank.
although i already been doing this submission since i seen it on this site a while ago i usually get it from when electric chair sweep fails, its a awsome variation attack but now i know alot about eddie bravos position
its going in the arsenal and called the stoner control toe-hold and its gonna be my first attack from that position and im gonna switch to the other variations when my opponent kicks his foot out and plants it on the mat or trys to walk around with his hands and trys to circle his leg back to get back in step1,2,3 im gonna try to post some of these positions

i might be thinking of working my neck b4 trying dz 1...it looks really creative...

The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.
