Can Opener Variation

The Electric Can Opener
Submitted by Squirrel - Lockflow.com member

Squirrel says," First, this technique is not to be used if you can’t break or clear guard on some one [...]. The electric can opener is a follow on or “lockflow” to the can opener. For those of you that are familiar with the can opener-- it doesn’t work on people that have strong neck muscles or a high pain tolerance."

  • Step 1
  • I start inside my opponents guard applying the can opener like so.
  • Step 2
  • Next, I shift to my left and centering my right elbow on my opponent’s sternum. While doing this I still have a loose can opener applied and I am controlling the head.
  • Step 3
  • After getting into position, I re-torque the can opener and drop my weight on to the elbow that is in my opponent’s sternum. It hurts, he taps.

I don't think this is something someone would tap to. As soon as the bottom person lets go of their guard and shifts around, the pressure is relieved. This is a good guard escape, but I don't think it's something someone would straight up tap to.

I like using the can opener once in a while. Not to submit people, but more to open someones guard or to start setting up something else.

be carefull with this one...I am just recovering from neck surgery after my disc was ruptured by a can opener.

hmmm...if he also pull ur head and going 4 triangle, what would u do..??

The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.
