Catch Wrestling Quarter Nelson to hooking combo

Nelsons are a great way to turn your opponent over to their backs, but can also lead to some interresting hooks. The Nelson series ( half, full, reverse etc) should be part of everyones curriculum.

  • 1
  • my opponent shoots for a double and I sprawl
  • 2
  • My left hand passes under and behind his right armpit and my right hand posts on his head (close to his left ear) figure 4 your hands
  • 3
  • closer shot of the hands
  • 4
  • I pull him in towards me,this will flip him over to his back
  • 5
  • As he rolls, I start walking towards his back.
I like to jam my right elbow in their ribs at this point...just for the heck of it
  • 6
  • Front view of the previous step , note the elbow and my left hand slipping behind his neck
  • 7
  • option #1- As soon as his back touches the ground I slip my left hand over and inside his left armpit
  • 8
  • I quickly lift my left leg to jam his right arm
  • 9
  • I reach behind his neck with my right hand and grab his left elbow with both hands.I lift his elbow up and push down with my right elbow on his head...They usually swear a great deal at this point before tapping out
  • 10
  • option #2- I wrap myleft forearm across his face and crank upwards...again, lots of profanity at this point
  • 11
  • option # 3- I pass my left foot over his left shoulder, wrap his right arm and hook the shoulder wrench by pulling up towards me and cranking to the left
  • 12
  • option #4- If all else fails,I'll reach over with my right hand, grab my left foot and pull it the way under his right armpit
  • 13
  • I figure four my legs and do reverse triange, works both as a pin or choke...either way, it's good times guaranteed

Super contributor!

Coming up large. Love your work.

It is not necessary to give everything all the time.
Instead we must realise the critical moments and give it all then.

another WHOAAA for catch wrestling...

/*does dz mean he deserves a special jacket Chaz..??*)

The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.

Love the flow

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow"

Here I thought I was the only one who did the submission in Step 9! I call that the "punisher." Great, great lock that no one ever sees coming., and you're right, they do curse. This is a tremendous chain of hooks, thanks for posting it!

Damn...I thaught I was the only one to use it Smile

lol at both you fools this is on every catchwrestling tape made way to put your name on it though lmao, but ya good tech

LOL at calling the guys "Fools", believe it or not - some guys discover new moves all the time...probably not new to everyone, ( as I think that there are no new moves) but new to them none-the-less. It doesn't make you a fool to discover a new technique.

*scratching head* Hmmm, Kris has contributed a few moves on LF. Looking around for Hooker's addition oh thats right because there is none. Don't have the balls to contribute but you're pretty tough behind that keyboard talking smack instead of helping a few of your fellow grapplers out.

hey Hooker,who rattled your cage?
before trashing people, you should learn how to read,me and Shadalion mentioned using the technique, not inventing it.
