The Center Knee Guard Pass is a great follow-up pass for the standard Knee Push guard pass when your opponent blocks you.

Eddie starts in Paul's closed guard
Eddie uses his left elbow to push down on the inside of Paul's right thigh, forcing Paul's leg to the mat.
Eddie slides his left knee over Paul's right thigh as he pummels his right arm under Paul's left armpit to get the underhook. (the Underhook will prevent Paul from taking Eddie's back later)
Paul uses his right hand to block Eddie's left knee from passing through.
Keeping the same position, Eddie raises his hips up...
Eddie pops his right knee to the inside of his blocked left knee, pushing it through towards Paul's right side until his knee touches the mat.
Eddie uses his left hand to lift up Paul's right tricep(not shown) and then drops his hips as he slides his right thight uner Pauls right arm to solidify the Judo position.

I've tried this a couple times but I always end up getting triangled in step 2. Now that I'm looking at it like this, in step two it looks like if you hook your left foot around their right foot, that might stop that triangle from coming if your arm isn't doing it for you.

Oh, come on....you can't be serious??? The guy in the above comment is right. There is no way you are going to break a guys guard using your one arm anyway. If he does seperate his guard at that point it will only be to put a triangle on you.
You need to specify that this move only works when you are in his open guard. Or at least show a safe set up to open the guard that is high percentage for no gi.
Ultraman, thanks for the comments, would love to see your techniques. Ever think about contributing?
for the record i have gotten this pass against alot of guys.
and try to remember that the techniques are broken down and exaggerated a bit to really show whats going on.
I pull this off fairly often, as I hate passing under the leg. After you break his guard, and he is thinking scissor sweep, seems to be the timing that works best. If you shoot the right leg through like a knee strike, the momentum will almost carry you to his side. Keep your weight on him and drive.
"Sometimes killing a fly with a sledge hammer is entirely appropriate.
It doesn't make the fly any more dead, but the rest of the flies sure sit up and take notice."
Like all moves sometimes you can exicute and sometimes you have to improvise this is a good tech. Its taught everywhere and It can be effective. And sometimes you can get caught its all part of the game. GOOD POST

ahhhh..he's climbing the opponent step by step...
The strong man is not the one who wrestles, but controls himself in a fit of rage.

Using both elbows to open the guard, one on each thigh but still relatively tight to your body, helps defend against the triangle. You can then easily transition to underhooking each leg and passing under them both to the side instead of over them. Plus nobody likes having elbows jammed into their thighs, so it helps open the guard.
If a guy is this low in your guard, especially if you are not wearing a gi, then you should be doing rubber guard anyways. No one has every done this pass on me because when i feel it coming i just lift my butt up and it slides up their knee, or i double grape vine them to buy myself some time and then reclose my guard.
where do you train skidmark?
