Corkscrew Scissor Takedown

I have been playing with a few new entrances for scissors. Here is one of them that scores high style points.

  • the fake trip
  • reap your leg on the outside of his lead leg to set up this move.
  • the post
  • post the same side hand as tripping leg on the floor.
  • scissor
  • turn your head around to face your opponent and clip him in the waist with your other leg. make sure you hold yourself up with the posting hand/hands and clip him high. if you clip him low you can seriously injure his knees.
  • the finish
  • finish with an inside leg triangle, and an inverted heel hook.

sweet, on the inside triangle with your legs. will that stop him from rolling.

"Corkscrew Scissor Takedown" The name alone will submit most guys.

That is super suave!

When i was a novice, "Magic" was the only word i said when our teacher showed us such a new technique. The pleasure and the show goes on. Thank you very much.

You said it LSBJJ!

Heh, Me likey!
Hey, since I can't use heel-hooks (nogi intermediate, gi-blue, ammy mma)... I wonder about a finish rolling back the other way over to the knee-bar. The triangle on the leg would get in the way, but perhaps locking it after. Or perhaps C your body and simply do a straight leg-lock right there.
Way cool, thanks Reilly!

I don't have to win every time, it doesn't bother me in the slightest to get tapped. So I'm able to learn the ins and outs without my ego getting in the way. - Eu

Reilly, you have to post a stepwise version of that one spinning leg entry from the single leg bait!

its called the 'rick roll' and its on here somewhere.

Was playing with this last night, awesome is the only word necessary. Not as hard as it first looks either.

I used this last night as well... it worked very well! Thanks Reilly!

I should give this a shot. Many guys at my gym rely on Osoto Gari as their sweep so this would be a nice surprise to use on them.

that was sick, nice move, im gunna try this during my next wrestling match, looks like it will look like it leads directly into a pin.
